Hello folks,

I received my copy today and started a game with Italy. After a couple of hours of play (I am in mid-36), I say : the game is GREAT. No deception, no regret. But a few questions to begin with :

- Is there a way to list all your trades agreements ? I cannot remember to which countries i give my precious supplies.

- What is the goal of influencing countries ? It cost a lot of cash, and I don't know if it give you better trades, or if you need good relations solely to negociate alliances.

- Do naval (particularly subs and destroyers) and air units upgrade like infantry ? I looked the ledger, they do not appear to be listed for upgrade, and the manual say nothing about it (AFAIK).

- Is there a way to order the naval transports to STAY in the port where they just landed troops and not return to the home port ?

- how is determined the efficiency of a trade agreement and what is his effect ? (i.e when it says 50%, will i receive only 50% of the contract ?)

- Research : is there a way not to pay specific teams (they still work when you're out of cash but a reduced rate; as I a am low on cash, it would be a great source of economy).

The production screen has a box holding all your current trade deals.

having better relations with a country allows for you to get better trade deals, but current ones will have to be renegotiated. relations are also needed for all types of alliances/trades/military access.

air/ground units upgrade while naval units only get benefits of doctrines. Its a completely new ship after all.

use rebase order when the units are loaded.

number of units on ASW duty, number of ports owned and for the enemy number of units convoy hunting, all have effect on trade efficiency.

lower your consumer goods production but dont go below the dissent needs. That should do it.

Two short addenda to what Ghost_dk had to say, Zakouski:

First, I think that transport flotillas will "rebase" to a port only if it contains a naval base. However, they'll remain in any port if you simply tell the flotilla to "move" there.

Second, the only way I know of to make sure that certain tech teams get paid when you're short of $$ (apart from doing what ghost_dk suggested) is to leave some of your research slots empty. You can't point to a certain team and say, "I want THOSE guys to get theirs first!"

I would suggest that you trade for cash with any spare resources or supplies you might have.

(and now : back to Italy ! Ethiopia has been crushed, 20% of the army has been dissolved, trage agreements have negociated, Industries are being built, Nationalist Spain is backed... what will I do ? Weak country, need allies !)

Ships can only be repaired at naval bases that are in supply but ships can dock at regular ports as well. The larger the base the faster the repair.

Over-generous peace offer

Thx for the swift answer (and I should have read better the manual, the answer was in it).

Actually, my game is in mi-1938. And I have been quite surprise by the peace resolution procedure.

As Italy, I invaded Yugoslavia with my Bulgarian ally. After 2 month of fighting, I conquered Zagreb, Rijeka, and Split. The Bulgarian troops took Pristina and Nis.

But, as I am Italian, my economy suffered from the fuel usage of bombers and ships. My troops began to suffer defeats.

And then, the computer AI proposed me a peace deal : I could have the conquered territories, PLUS 5 others provinces (Skopje, banka luka, Podgorica and two others i dont remember now.) I immediatly accepted, because if I had proposed a deal at this moment, I would never have dream to obtain so much. :rolleyes:

I feel the AI was way too generous with me, and offered too much. Did anybody playing the game had similar experiences ?

They probably didn't know you were out of fuel. Most times when a human ITA attacks YUG, YUG is annexed, so any peace keeping them alive is a good deal to them.
