I have played the demo and i have lot of questions on gameplay:

-what effect have character wealth, and what effect does have family prestige?

-how can i improve a character loyalty? is character loyalty also linked to its popularity?

-what is religious prestige?the mission desecrate holy site what effect does have? Does religious prestige affect the conversion of a population in a province?

-what does intrigue mean?is it linked to some missions like support rebels, assassinate, desecrate holy site?

-can i acquire slave only in battles?

-can i colonise a province which have a high number of barbarians if i place in the province enough troops or i have to wait that an horde spawns and its barbarian number is decreased?

-is population referred to citizens, freedmen and slaves or only citizen and freedmen?does population growth affect only freedmen and citizens?

-what is the ratio between the freedmen number and the manpower produced/month ?

-can i pillage an enemy province to decrease its civilization rate?does buildings affect civilization rate?

Character Wealth is used by events. In a civil war for example wealthy characters might spent thier money to raise troops. other characters might decide to spedn their wealth making themselves more popular

Character loyalty depends on a number of things, but if you have got a ruler with crap traits you have a problem

The prestige of a religion influences the chance of invoking an omen

Finesse, apart from effecting events, also effects the characters ability to tax a province, do technology and do the intruege missions

If memory serves conquering cities brings home slaves

No you must wait for the horde to spawn

No each population unit grows by the population rate. National ideas and technology will cause population units to convert. Slaves -> Freeman -> Citizens

No Idea what the exact forumal is, I try not to learn things like these because it spoils the 'magic' of the game for me.

No only barbarians can actualy decrease the civilisation value.

Väinö I said:
Where exactly do the captured slaves go? Capital? Cohorts home province? Randomly in core provinces?

Barbarians are focussed on the capital but then are scattered about the rest of the country. It will probably be the same.

So when you are Rome, there's no point in picking your national idea the way your type of goverment suggests to get 15% bonus to character wealth? Since it only endangers you in case of war and gives no other profit.

The characters on YOUR side might raise troops/your Consul might use his wealth to make himself more popular.

All right. Sounds fair. I still prefer to take two militaristic for my Spanish fun with Carthage if I'm Rome. Maybe it's different when one is not fighting a war till death right from the beginning.

One more thing. Is it possible to bring Iron from deep Spain back to my heartland in Carthage? Training everything heavy in Spain is painful in case I wanted to invade Greece or Egypt.

I tried to trade Iron with a coastal province and then send it further but the game doesn't seem to allow me to do that.

Not always, character use thier wealth in positive ways as well. A wealthy ruler can help bail you out if you go negative in cash for example.
