Great work again guys, the version is slowly becoming fir for the final release. Special praises for graphic models, the guy who did them is a genius.
Now to some observation/questions, I tried a new game yesterday with SU, followed a hist. path, so far I got to october 1939:
1. Bug in Air doctrine tech tree, the first Air Superiority doctrine isn't named at all and lack description (I believe it is a known bug already)
2. Bug in Aircraft tree, Esc. F. and Fighter positions are mixed up (known too, I believe)
3. I still can't perform Air supply missions and I can't find a tech that would unlock them
4. SU doesn't get new Air doctrine tech team after the purges like it should. The old guy is removed, but the new one doesn't show up (at least not until october 1939).
5. I still think that the "War with Poland" event should be removed. It:
a) is not realistic at all, it is higly questionable if SU would march into Poland if Germans wouldn't own the Poles (highly unlikely but still). Not to mention that despite the fact that Soviet troops did march into Poland they did it without DOW. So the solution with German's annex and ceding provinces is far better and, more important, far more realistic.
b) It cancels all trade deals with allies (since they are allied with Poland and you go to war with them). What's more, you can even have (or are forced into) some skirmishes with them (highly unrealistic). For example, just as Geramny attacked Poland I was sending some ships from Black sea to Vladivostok. They got attacked by UK and most of them were sunk. For nothing but the "game reasons".
c) In the event it says that the purpose of SU's DOW on Poland is to help Germany. Germany doesn't need any help with dealing with the Poles. Not to mention it is virtually impossible to play with Poles now, as from sept. 1 1939 you are attacked by Germany and SU... Mind you, Poland is one of the preffered play options/countries in the game...
6. The names of Russian tanks are somehow strange. Under the light tank section there isn't T 26 (one of the best light tank of interwar period) to be found. Light tank brigade is incorrectly using KV-2 tanks. KV-2 were inf. support tanks but they were not light at all since they were build on the chassis of a KV-1 with a huge turret with a 15.2 cm howitzer. T-27 could be used as an early light tank birgade (Russian adaptation of the British tankette Carden-Lyod VI.Total production of 4000 units between 1931 and 1941). Some other featured models are also somehow strange and could be replaced with better ones but I can't point them out right now (as I'm not home at the moment). If you need any help with infos. on tanks I can be of some use... Also some tanks lack pictures, I can help here too.
7. Russian tech teams could be leveled up a bit (especially Tupolov and that tank making factory).
8. Introducing new air school techs. in aircraft tech tree is great but it raises the number of researchable tech's by 6 or maybe even more.
9. Air doctrines tech tree - last and most advanced techs. are historically available as early as in 1941. Is this correct?
10. Picture of semi motorized cavalry divison is incorrect, it is a picture of air cavalry (with helicopters).
11. Quick question on baltic states. I choose "baltic states into my sphere of influence, all those events happened to them too, but I didn't get their land nor I can demand provinces from them. I did cede Wilnus to Latvia. I just remebere they could've been made puppets but I can't check right now. Is this correct?
12. I'm not sure but as I recall the prewar SU is without any peactime modifiers. Their IC output is in any case very very high (even base, it should be lowered so SU would have to commit major resources into industrialization) so you can field an enormous army as early as in 1939 which is not realistic. SU should receive some bigger penalties as they were somehow struggling in prewar years. Also their starting land doctrine could be brought down a bit so their army would really be a mess at least until winter war (they could get some blueprints via event then and some later at the start of the great patriotic war).
edit: I noticed you lack info and pics of Russian navy. I can help if you like...
These are just a few things that I can remember right now. Hope they'll be of any use. Otherwise, as I said, the mod is great.
regards
