Hi!

I have dug myself deep into Hoi2 modding in the past and have come across a few limitations that bound my hands.
I am now curious if these are solved in this edition.

1. Is it possible now to increment or decrement "ground defense efficiency", for example +0.05 to gde, or is it left as it was. ( in the past it was only possible to set the gde to a certain value).

2. Is it possible now to modify the toughness value of units via events? (I was only able to modify values like soft attack defensiveness this way). I used to get an error message in the event "A not yet described command".

I don't think you can do either (though Lennartos might know better) - but the way GDE is worked out has changed completely, so it is partly a no-longer-meaningful question. GDE depends on Defence/Toughness in AoD.

im not 100% sure if your points were considered up to today, but you can check for yourself on release day. If its not in then, i can and will line this up in our dev queue, as it seems to make sense to me to change toughness via event.

I'm giving you straightaway another one here :) : to add, parallel to synthetic oil techs, a couple of slots for hi-octane fuel techs. I've recently read in a book that the USAF used 100 octane fuel while the Luftwaffe used only 88 octane fuel, giving the American fighters a small advantage on the German ones. Just a little thought!

I've recently read in a book that the USAF used 100 octane fuel while the Luftwaffe used only 88 octane fuel, giving the American fighters a small advantage on the German ones.

I just wonder how much that would effect air combat in large scale. +5% beter modifier due beter fuel? Should the RAF and USAAF have +5% extra modifier aswell due beter rearside view in most of their planes until certain year where germans gets +5% aswell? +5% for beter roll rate in higher speeds? +5% for beter roll rate in slower speeds? -10% low altitudes +10% on higher altitudes? :rofl:

Yes I know it has some impact, but it's so marginal and comparable to saying that germans lost the war just because they stopped issuing jackboots as standard issue somewhere between '41 and '43 which actually had effect on the morale of new recruits or replacements. :p

It was only a suggestion to help expand a bit the tech trees without significantly altering game balance. It could simply give a +1 air attack and +1 air defense to, say, fighters and interceptors.
