1. Afaik, most kinds of military units (except militia) would make their new comers to do some similar trainings, like physical training and military discipline. So is it better to set a recruit system? This system can be activated by a tech (like "Conscription") and "convert" reserved manpower to "soldier" by spending some IC (especially by the IC for infantry training) and time. Players can select to use "soldier" or "manpower" to reinforce his unit. He will get some bonus like discount on reinforce time and unit organization if he use "soldier" but not manpower directly.
2. Can I use captured equipments? Or if I surround some enemy and annihilate them, can I use their equipments (with some penalties of course)?
3. Is there a system for equipment trading?
4. Are the outdated equipments restored? IMO it can be used to the secondary troops or sold to the minor countries.

1. We know you'll have to build some abstract "equipment" to be able to equip your infantry, i guess that is abstracting the training too.
