First off, I'm not saying you have to love the expansion, or can't be skeptical of it. In fact I think some degree of skepticism is always healthy with new releases. But some of the negativity towards this expansion has been ridiculous, specifically some of there comments.
"Nobody asked for this!"
Just because you didn't ask for it doesn't mean others haven't, one of my major problems with the game has been the fact that fires currently pose little challenge to your city and not having enough fire protection is only a minimal problem. And with this it looks like that's probably going to change
"We want something with depth"
fixing the depth and challenge problem that skylines has is that last thing that should be in a expansion pack. Anything fixing systems already in place should be a free patch. But Colossal Order is a business and can't just make free patches, they need to make DLC so they can pay employees.
Additionally, this expansion has the potential to add more meaningful depth to the game with stuff like evacuation routes, and early warning systems. Of course we'll need to see more to know for sure
"We wanted a transport DLC"
This I find funny because it's usually from the same people who want more depth. Throwing in more transportation options doesn't add more depth except for a ferry
And yes, I'm well aware that you guys also want traffic AI to be improved to go along with such an expansion. However the Devs have said they don't want to have to raise the minimum requirements by improving traffic AI.
That's not to say wanting traffic DLC is wrong, but wanting it for more depth is naive. And acting like you have to get what you want first is pretty spoiled. I would have wanted disasters to come before snowfall, but did I start complaining about how nobody asked for this? No I calmly decided to just not buy it
"I don't want to rebuild my city!"
Nobody except for the dev know how rebuilding a city is going to function. It could be completely manual where we have to redo the roads and everything, or it could be automatic and happen slowly over time. Let's wait and see before writing the DLC off
Again, there is nothing wrong with being skeptical. But completely writing off an expansion because it doesn't add depth, or because it's going to be annoying to rebuild, when we don't know the specifics of how it's going to function is stupid.
