Hey guys,

I downloaded the demo a couple of days ago, and after liking the game so much I took the leap and bought it on STEAM.

Now I do think there is a lot the game can improve on. I'm going to try not to repeat what has already been said here on the forums, and try to focus on problems or improvement that I have not yet seen.

-Improvement to Bus/Tram stops system: At the moment, we can choose between 3 sorts of bus/tram stops. From what I gathered, it is preferable to use the most expensive ones at places where there will be the most passengers waiting. However when starting a fresh game, figuring out which station is going to get used alot is, at most, a guess work. Because of this, I usually find myself having to manually upgrade my stops after finding the "hotspots". This is very much time consuming, as you have to close the line, delete stop from the line, delete the stop from the game, create another stop, adding that stop to the line using the awkward menu, and finally reopening the line.
I suggest that you implement an "upgrade system", where when highlighting an existing stop with a better one, it would ask you whether you want to upgrade it automatically, without interfering with the line.

- Adding line specific feedbacks: At the minute, we can get feedback data for each vehicles and stops, giving us the money they make, how many people they transport, etc.
However, we have no feedbacks what so ever on lines. I would really like to have similar feedbacks as vehicles but for individual lines, to identify quickly which line is operating efficiently and which isn't, etc.

- (this has already been mention but I just wanted to say I i was interested in this feature aswell) Vehicle spacing: Being able to manually space vehicles on a line, by for example setting the minimum gap before the next vehicle.

- (this was mentioned aswell) Preview of tracks/lines : It would be nice to have a mode where we could plan out our whole system and see an overview of it before actually spending the money on building it. This, in a way, is realistic, as a city would never build a new line without extensive planning beforehand. The simple fact of being able to print out blueprints of the city (either colour or black and white to save ink) on a printer for use to be able to draw out our system would be very, VERY useful.

Thank you very much for reading, if any of you guys have comments you'd like to make, please feel free to do so.

Another geordie who enjoys the game :). My main gripe with it is that it is just so damn hard, even on the easy setting. Yes, I like a challenge, but a challenge simply becomes an annoyance/frustration when even your best efforts go to waste. I have a tram stop with over 200 passengers waiting, the trams available only hold 10 passengers, and I barely scrape enough money each month to afford a single tram. Buying one single tram each month does not make this an enjoyable experience, and I have taken to simply speeding the game up and pausing it on the last day of the month to see what I can afford to buy. And it's like this even though all my vehicles are full to capacity the vast majority of the time, and I'm charging passengers 'red fares'. I just don't know how to make money in a decent enough quantity for the game to be enjoyable!

From what I have gathered, loans are very important, especially when you start out a new city. Because there is no way that you can make enough profit in the first 5 ~ 10 years to really expand your network, taking on a loan is the only way to do it. Just be careful to take a loan with monthly repayments that you can actually afford. Also, only borrow what you need, taking too much means you will be paying more in interest in the end and end up with higher monthly payments.

Actually at the moment I would suggest you take all the loans you need without thinking too much about paying them back. Just use those loans wisely aka build at least one metro line. If you get at least that you can pay those loans back in no time, just set the ticket prices really high for some time when there are a lot of people waiting, it will take some time until the customers decide not to ride the metro for 20. In a year or two you can raise the amount needed to pay those loans you took back early.

Sounds gamey but that's the name of the game with 1.0.1.0 as there is no way you can make enough money with busses and trams.

Wait until you get to upgrade a stop that has 2-3+ lines running through it, oh the joys. :D

I would suggest playing a 'custom' game and giving yourself as much money as you need until you get a hang for the game and making a profit, this leaves off having to take out loans for when you go back to playing on easy, medium or hard. I have yet to not make a profit before I run out of the initial cash given on a custom game. I just need to fine tune my procedures so that I get a positive influx of cash faster than I'm getting it now to be able to go on to easy, medium or hard levels.

I've had good luck playing the campaign cities without taking loans. I realize some take the approach that the only way they think they can win is by building a huge metro network and ignoring buses and trams. I think if you find a more economical balance you will be more successful and grow faster. I've played Berlin and Amsterdam a few times. I do well to not take out loans.
Amsterdam starts you with a generous 24K. Build a simple two or three stop metro and use trams to get people from villages, airport, etc to the metro. No loan required. After awhile, the money rolls in and you can start expanding your metro... then you have exponential growth.

Great idea!
Perhaps a fullscreen, zoomable overview of the city, where you can draw different lines onto it to gain an approximate cost and maybe a general idea of how many passengers it will bring. I don't think it would make the game too much easier, and it would be very satisfying to plan out a route this way, and have it be successful.

Another geordie who enjoys the game :)
Make that +1 :D
