Because it's an alpha screenshot, and a lot of the graphics shown are place holders from EU3/HoI3/Vicky 1.

I have noticed some colour changes to various states in Europe. Hmm, why doesn't Prussia has its Prussian Blue?
To be honest, for me, new yellow for Prussia is much better.
I am not sure what I think of it. It is a bit too chaotic for my tastes I gather. And the font isn't all that great either, more oldfashioned font would be a lot better. Wouldn't a 'historical-atlas-feel' when you zoom out be awesome?
Check the screenshot in DD #17, the look of the map has been changed since this thread was originally posted a few weeks back, in particular related to the fonts used.
Thanks for pointing me at it. That font is a lot better altough I think it needs some minor tweaks like being a bit smaller and the large countries and a bit bigger in the small ones (don't mind about overlapping with the borders) and 75% oppacity instead of 100%. My opinion of course

France's name looks funny in the DD screenshot, if it could be written south to north or horizontally I think it would look better. That's minor, though. If anyone's seen the new EU3 patch then Ming's name at the start is in a sort of upwards twist, it's pretty silly.
