Why does everyone hate the font?I like it.

You know what's really cool looking (and might not be immediately apparent)? The way it looks like an actual folded-out map... there are creases across it, so it looks like paper.
hmm, I don't see the usefulness of this. Ok it looks quite nice, but I hope this is an extra Mapmode and not the political mapmode. I think the majority of us know the worldmap very well and dont need a reminder that the big blob in asia is china.

It makes the map look more like historical atlas, which gives it a lot of flavor, so it looks really great to me. I'd LOVE to see it in HOI3 (in expansion maybe?)

The feature is ridiculously awesome. But what if the country is split in two?

This map feature looks fantastic - but I want to echo the Red Irishman who earlier said that names could become too big, and there should be a limit to the size of the names.
Maybe if it were a map function that could be turned on and off, it would please both sides of the camp?
Everyone bitching about the font should remember this is an ALPHA. It's so annoying when people complain about unfinished things looking unfinished.

I think that's the idea of the "dynamic names". Also, if a country increases in size, the text will stretch as well, I presume? Like, doing a WC with Luxemburg and having "Luxemburg" written all over Europe!

I agree. Nice feature and with a bit smaller font it will be great.
How will it work on the United Kingdom though? I mean they own provinces all across the world.
I hope this feature will be optional. Becouse experienced players alweady know all names. By the way it's a good idea.
Wow that's cool. I'd love to know some technical side to that... how do you figure out what rotation and size to make the text? You are able to dynamically generate a polygon based on the borders and find the best rotation/size to fit in that polygon? Sounds like some good coding there!
Nah, the function in EUIII exports a color coded version of the province map from the /maps directory.
What I think would be cool would be a straight export of the IN GAME map as a single screenshot with all the shaders and country names etc.
Sure, restrict it to max zoom out, and it will still be 6000 pixels across or something, but we could resize or crop as needed.
That would be a cool feature.
It's cause we're both reds.
