Some new map features.

It looks cool, but the names shouldn't be scaled with country size as much. Persia, Nejd, Egypt and China are too big... I cant even imagine what Russia would look like... I think the font size used in, say Oman, should be the biggest used in any country.

But overall it's another cool feature. The map is beautiful.

Will the map be dynamic? ie- will Russia change to USSR if they go commie for example? Will the north America region say America or USA? Etc etc

Very nice idea, but the font size needs to be reduced. Right now the text fits the country at 95+%, which actually looks bad. Maybe 60%?

Most likely the name on the map will change to whatever the name of the country is, given the "dynamic" nature of it. So if you have fascists overthrow the United Kingdom, the name on the map would change to "Republic of Britannia."

And I figure the name on the map of the USA will be... "USA." I wonder how big those three letters will be on the map? Heh.

Most likely, for the basic countries there will be special names (for example: Ottoman empire - Turkey, Russia - the USSR), but for the others will be patterns.

Nice, but please tie font-size to country area and not the number of letters of the countries name + country area.

Real life maps enlarge the spaces between letters in large countries to avoid too fat letters.

Very nice feature! Though I agree that there could be a better front (besides, do certain names have to fill half the screen *cough* China *cough*?) and I hope there's ability to turn off the names in options.

I don't like the font either. It doesn't look that nice enlarged. Here's a selection of 19th/20th century maps. They have really nice looking fonts. Can't say exactly what the fonts in those maps are called as I'm not that much of a fontaholic.

I especially like the second map. It uses all caps for the country names and normal mixed lower and upper case for cities (which would be province names in V2). Some of the words are also slanted (italics) which is a nice effect as well.

Hope you can get this thing working in the final game.

Of course Ethiopia is all wrong for 1836. The country was not yet unified, and the lowlands were not conquered.

Still we're are lucky to be treated by such a great map.

I just hope we get slightly less...1930's borders in the Middle East. Mesopotamia looks atrocious, as does Abu Dhabi.

Sweet idea though, especially the way the lettering is tilted
