yup, excited by this one, makes my life easier....
I realize you just said "work in progress", but I'll ask anyways: Will the map give names for seperated portions of countries (for example, if America makes a south african colony, will that say "America" as well, or only the portion near the 50 states?)

Well in the screenshot nothing is shown in British India, so I'd guess that for now it will only be on the 'mainland' section of a country.
This could be a very neat feature, can I request that it be toggle able though?

It looks cool, but the names shouldn't be scaled with country size as much. Persia, Nejd, Egypt and China are too big... I cant even imagine what Russia would look like... I think the font size used in, say Oman, should be the biggest used in any country.

Looks awesome. Although this is probably just a photoshop mockup as China overlaps with Tibet.

This will be super cool, if you can make the fonts look like the ones used on old maps. You know like the world maps you can see in the Indiana Jones movies, when Indy travels somewhere.

Then the dynamic part of the system kicks in?
If there are a lot of provinces on a different continent, should the country name be displayed in there too?
I mean like Great Britain displayed in Canada, Britain and India.

Looks amazing, but I'd have to agree with RedRalphWiggum, if you could give us the ability to tone down the size of the lettering it would be great, It'd feel weird if one letter of my country was as big as Australia.
