Hello
With a hundred of hours in this game I had some ideas to make it more exciting or more realistic some times (hope they weren't already suggested I couldn't read all the threads):

Goals or a new kind of Achievements (not depending on mods activation!)
I'd like to have some goals that unlock more features, for example building a certain quantity of office zoning we could be able to activate research for electric vehicles which would make them available and used a few years later (so less noise, less pollution, improving happiness &more electric consumption for example)

Same thing with medical researches (maybe with the new building in disasters DLC) which could lead to research for really agressive diseases (cancer, AIDS ..) that would improve general health, or make public healthcare available ..

I read it's already in the game but I can't see it: I also would like to activate researches to make industry less and less polluting over the years, improving building construction and consumption ..

And why not IT researches to build better and better datacenters (undergroud DCs => heat for the city heat system)

I would see it like this kind of reasearch improvments: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71qr4tQZAIL.jpg or this one is even better http://cache.hackedonlinegames.com/uploads/games/pictures/368/pHCMMGTZBMQEP.jpg
You can upgrade one domain at a time after X months of funding reasearch for this domain (IT, Healthcare, Pollution, Cars, Freight, ..) and each level unlocked enables the next one when conditions are complete (time, money ..)

All types of assets could benefit from reasearches and be automatically upgraded OR only the new ones would be improved in some cases.

Parks everywhere !
I just thought of it while reading other suggestions: Could we zone parks instead of placing them. They could be more "blended" in the city if they followed roads, curves and other buildings

Improving automatic naming
As it will be available for roads with the DLC (or the free patch ? I don't remember) I'd like to have a button to rename the road-district-bus line-... randomly from the "names pool" if I don't like the first automatically choosen.

Speaking of this "pool", It feels a little empty and sometimes not perfectly translated, I'd like to give this to the community of players:
An editor would be publicy available and names for each langages would be proposed and up or downvoted. The higher ones would be in the game (directly online from servers or updated with the other regular patches)
If this is too complicated or risky it could be only for translation of the official names and community voted.

Funnier and more useful Chirper:
I liked it at the beggining, it was useful, now I'm fed up with it. I hesitate to disable it completely because the "population chirps" which can inform of a problem are always the same so I don't read them anymore most of the time.

The idea is pretty much the same as for naming: involving community:
A list of "category of problems" like "water pollution, water unavalability, traffic congestion, renewable energy, bad health, too much dead people in the building, power outages, disaster, etc .., AND fun chirps (!)" In each category everyone can propose a useful (&/or funny) text, vote for it, and translate the better ones for every available language.

This way we would be informed for something going wrong (with the name of the district it would be perfect!) and still having a little surprise while reading it. I sometimes miss the really fun messages in Sim City's marquee, so the fun category would be great. A mod is already using reddit to make chirps but it laks the translation and the info part.

A very little addition
Maybe the less likely to be adopted because of the performance cost: having workers on the roads while building them, reparing them, and cranes for buildings..

Thank you for reading ;)

I'm with that one! I think we have downgraded/regressed from SC4 where you could actually see workers while building infrastructure.

Furthermore, I've long been thinking about building times. What if a huge bridge or a tall skyscrapper takes a few game years time? In SC4 roads took a few seconds to be built (I don't know if that was just a graphic animation without any simulator impact).
You "paint" your bridge, and when you are done you click "Build!" and the construction work starts.

This could only apply to specific "huge" buildings. The player'll be forced to plan ahead instead of waiting to run out of energy to build a nuclear power plant. I'm not sure if it'd add fun to the game, though.

Funnier and more useful Chirper:
Chirper doesnt only needs news hats, please he need to chirp the right things at the right time, when is not pipe or light tower tell us, but in the right spot of the city that is affected , with the realesed of natural disaters there are much city problems than before. And we need that the important things, need to be display , why chirper? because he is in the screen 24hrs and the warning icons doesnt if you not are looking. But if the important messages of chirper dislays maybe with a different color or hastag and with the click of the mouse take us to the right spot ( today the person that chirps and take us to a random place, where the district is perfect or with an other problem, and when the problem is too late to fix it) and tell us now in this momento that this district or part of the city we dont have light. etc....

The funny things are so few that are to repeated, and that is where everyone disable chirp.
