hey guys, some minutes ago i had a thought about the maximum recruitable population

as we can see in the wiki the maximum recruitable population base through laws is 50%
now lets add the 5% bonus through the mass mobilization branch of the mass assault doctrine and now we probably can add about 5-10% bonus through advisors and National focuses (just a guess) which will give us at maximum 65% of the whole population

and now lets imagine in a game the japanese start with the northern expansion which will give one of the factions in china the chance to conquer the whole country, which had according to real life statistics a population of about 500 millions and 65% of that would be 325 Million!

which would mean you literally could just drown your enemy in chinese blood, if this is really doable in Hoi IV

You only get a small percentage (about 1% - 10% iirc) of manpower in non-core territory. If you hold the lands yourself with the high mp-rate, you get only a very small part, if you give it to your satellites (which have cores there), they most likely wont have the same mp-laws, so they will get not as much. Besides, you get very high penalties on production if you take the high-mp-laws.

If Japan conquers all of China, they didn´t get the whole 50-65%, but only 2-3% of the original manpower pool, thats a tiny difference.

im quite sure that whole china counts as cores for the chinese factions
and you dont have to go from zero to scraping the barrel in one go and with the non core territories: once youve reached scraping the barrel you get from them 10% of 65% which is still 6,5% which is more than limited conscription in a core territory

i dont talk about the manpower that japans get when it conquers china, i talk about the manpower that china gets when it is unified

Ok, i misunderstood your post, my fault.
Even if you have a manpower pool of 300 million, you have to build the equipment for the Divisions, without it, they are worthless and you have to supply your army, so building too many Divs hurts you.

thats easy, you just produce level one infantry equipment for the whole game

who needs antitank guns when you just can throw enough men in the tracks of the enemies tank to block them... :D

not really
even if you enact extensive conscription which has no cons you would have 20-25% of the population which are about 125 Million Soldiers....
That really needs changed then. Huge negatives should roll into troop quality. Women, Children, Injured, Old, Mentally insane, and so on and so forth aren't fit for service for a reason.

With the severe penalties the maximum mobilization laws gives to your industry (nearly half), you would never be able to produce enough equipment of even the level 1 variety.

That really needs changed then. Huge negatives should roll into troop quality. Women, Children, Injured, Old, Mentally insane, and so on and so forth aren't fit for service for a reason.

Negatives are applied: the "scraping the barrel" laws gives huge penalties to basic training time (poorer quality troops require a lot more effort to train), production capability (since you've thrown pretty much all your worthwhile labor force into the army), and even a notable penalty to on-map unit experience gain.

not really
even if you enact extensive conscription which has no cons you would have 20-25% of the population which are about 125 Million Soldiers....

Uh... no? Extensive conscription gives you 5% of the population in your core territories with no cons. Service-by-requirement gives you 10% of the population, but applies a 10% production penalty to production.

EDIT: If your getting your numbers from the wiki, it's slightly out of date.

my calculation was: 10% from extensive conscription (i checked it at the wiki) plus 5% from the Human Wave offensive from the mass assault doctrine plus an estimated additional 5-10% possible from Advisors and National focuses which is after all 20-25 %

EDIT: i misread your last sentence

from where do you have your newer informations

and still it would be 15-20% which is till huge with China

Thanks. I thought there was a negative.

Also, to enact the All Adults Serve conscription law, your manpower must be 0 meaning you already got killed 20% of your population.

Also, to enact the Scraping the Barrel conscription law, your manpower must be 0 meaning you already got killed 40% of your population.

All Adult Serve has negatives too? Big ones there too I hope.

Question when you say 20% of population you mean recuitable population right? Not general? How are they doing that. Because it's simply impossible to use 40%. Even 20% is extremely rough to achieve.
