Came back to this game, using PDM mod, played Japan, blobbed out of control....

I love this game but tired of blobbing in games, I love focusing on the economy and my pops, any good ideas to help spice this game up? I'm down for tweaking or modding, or even an interesting start as a small nation

I already modded the weights out for North America and South America, pops still go there en masse but other countries actually get a couple thousand migrants here and there

Also is there something wrong with the PDM cash flow? I never go bankrupt or even close and I rarely see other nations go bankrupt... Any ways of making money harder to come by?

Personally, when I feel like mixing it up with Vicky 2, I pick a South American minor like Uruguay or Chile and attempt to hoover up all the immigrants while still maintaining nearly the same borders.

You can always play as one nation like France until you feel that it's OP and no longer challenging.
Save the game.
Reload and play as say Prussia, form Germany, fight OP France and become OP yourself.
Save the game.
Reload and play as Italy or Russia and try to contain the now OP Germany.

Playing like that is how I often play GPs.
This prevents you from playing the first 20 years and then just roflstomping others.

As for a more economic playthrough, try small nations like Wallachia or Greece?
