I thought when mass transit was announced we would finally see added or enhanced features that the game already had with the inclusion of something new. Added or enhanced features, above ground metro, multi platform metro, metro-train-bus-tram hubs, many more road selections eg tram tracks with trees, being able to select what type of bridge you want instead of the 1 type per road with no choice. These are just some of the areas I had hoped would be addressed.

However, some good stuff has been included, traffic light toggler (but no timed lights, stop signs but no give way or priority signs) and traffic report tool will be much appreciated. Extra highway roads. More of course, but the fact remains that as most do say, it is a dlc half done. So much more could of been improved upon the entire road system in this dlc but...............

I have not kept up with all of the new DLC's development but noting what the above post mentions what is in the DLC does anyone know if they have included a yield to traffic function for junctions and roundabouts etc...?
The yield function to me is very useful as otherwise the constant stop and start as each car approaches a clear junction can have a real effect of congestion at some of the busier roads.

I don't really see the point in monorails and blimps, but the blimps are at least fun. I would rather see a subway to above ground system, and a high speed train system (to outside world), that requires its own separate tracks, and would benefit from having only 1 station per city, so it would function like some sort of airport for the whole city. Or will the monorail be a little bit like that?

At the moment, as far as I know, they have implemented a STOP sign, but not a Yield sign. I wish they did both.

Lets work if out (feel free to correct here, esspicily for buses there may be some mistake is my main interest is in cable cars).
Buses:
These Alexander Dennis Enviro400 double deakers look pretty reasonable so lets use those as an example:
Enviro400-VE-VirtualElectricRte69-P1370155.JPG

The Wikipedia page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Dennis_Enviro400) lists the maximum capacity of 90 people. The most frequent bus route I can find is the 38 route in London which runs every 3 minuets on the core section during peak time (http://www.londonbusroutes.net/times/038N038.htm).
60/3=20 buses each hour
20*90=1,800
So the highest capacity bus route can transport 1,800 people per hour.
Cable car:
Again looking at London, the Cable Car is listed as having a capacity of 2,500 people per hour (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emirates_Air_Line_(cable_car)) well above the highest capacity bus route I can come up with.
Metro:
The Victoria line runs at 34 trains per hour during the peak (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_line#Service_and_rolling_stock) and the trains have a capacity of 876 people (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Underground_2009_Stock)
34*876=29,784 people per hour.

Its clear Metro services blow both Cable Cars and Buses out of the water in terms of capacity, and are clearly mass transit but Buses and Cable Cars are both less clear cut, I think exactly weather or not they are considered mass transit is a matter of opinion but surely you must both or none? Obviously it also goes without saying that many Cable Cars and Buses have a lot lower capacity, a single deaker running every 2 hours could transport say 15 per hour? And equally many Cable Cars have smaller capacity, this one near Barcelona had a capacity of 180 people per hour (https://www.remontees-mecaniques.net/bdd/reportage-tcv15-olesa-esparreguera-poma-2201.html)
Interesting piece of research, appreciate your taking time to present the data in support of your argument. A couple of points that should noted. Any cable car service is going to be at the mercy of weather conditions which can seriously disrupt the service and its reliability (similar effects on apply to water based ferry service). Also it is easier to increase the number of buses/metros/trams/aircraft on a route to meet any increase in demand. I would assume this would not be so easy on a cable car line?

I have very few issues with traffic stopping...! If it had to be one or the other then a yield would be preferred. Watching how they narrowly avoid pedestrians anyway, when crossing the road, I guess that you take your life in your own hands when living in one of my created cities.

It's actually the other way round. You need drivers for buses, so you need those to be ready for any additional one you send on a line. Cable cars usually have a station on the line where they can easily add or remove cabins according to demand.

I can't think of a wheather condition that would be harsh on a cable car system but not affect street traffic at the same time.

I work in a town with very high rate of commuters.
More than once a month there is an accient meaning that 1 of the 4 main entry roads (2x 2 lane, 2x 1 lane) is "locked" during and the others can't take the additional traffic.
Then you (and all buses !) need 30 to 60 minutes instead of 10.
The Tram is usually not affected - like any system with it's own pathing.
And I don't event want to start ranting about people forgeting how to drive when there is just a little bit of snow...

I can't believe what they did here. The yeld sign would be the most useful. We still can't have real roundabouts unless we use a mod. Why ?? just why ?

Well MT has hit and my disappointment has only worsened, the noise levels for the buildings are so high you cannot place them in a residential areas. The cims get sick from noise and the new functions are just useless in residential areas, have to place buildings a long way from housing.
I have also noticed that less cims are using bus and metro now. Still to test this as proven, but it is noticeably lower. Gonna load an old map later.

Just my thoughts so far, still lots to do lol.
