Hello world,
Im not by any mean a veteran of the Europa universalis franchise,
in this thread i wanted to share some of my experience and comments with the rest of the community.
In this game i am playing as France.
i wanted to exit the game in 1638 but then decided to continue on to check how the tech tree builds up and ended up leaving the game in 1685
The world map in 1638

Europe political map

-Poland formed the commonwealth in the early game start.
This was a great opportunity to see how the clash of the titans to the east would go.
-Flanders was independent as usual and then in the mid game Netherlands was a good nation with colonization , it had many wars with France and surprisingly it didn't die.But then came old Austria and took it down.
-I only minded my own business , didn't go to wars at all , except for a couple of 2 which Milan and savoy dragged me in , but didn't fight at all.
-The ottomans are strong , they didn't manage to complete their mission to conquer Mameluks in 1 time so they are doing it by chunks.
-Milan is in PU with me and savoy is in Spain's PU.
-Note the overgrown trier and note Pomerania ?!
Terra incognito

-Note Portugal colonial holdings in south and central america.
Number of provinces Comparison

-first place is Spain with a whooping 103 colonial provinces (to be more whooping afterwards) then comes continental Russia , then the continental Commonwealth (pink) and Portugal with around 58 provinces then the good old cozy almost historical France.
-Note that i didn't expand at all , apart from snagging Flanders when it became independent and then hainatu when they had the nationalist release them from Austria , apart from that i kept my natural France borders, with no colonization , no expansion and no diplomatic expansion (which seems non existing in the game)
Country comparison

-i have the highest income 177 ducats followed by Spain's 107 , and i had the highest administrative and military ranking , 3rd diplomatic ranking in the world and by the looks of it the biggest treasury the world have ever seen.
i know that it seems i was in the new world tech group since they are the only ones amassing gold , but this points out a big issue , in the endgame money will not be an issue for larger countries or countries that focus on building their income , but the real issue will be in the points to accumulate to do stuff.
The economy

-i was production oriented and paid little attention to trade modifier via diplomatic technology level (intentionally lagged behind by selecting diplomatic consuming ideas in the tech tab) but its modifier was higher than that of taxation although the outcome was not that much different.
The Trade Tab

-a lot of trade power and little trade income.
Technolgy

Ideas

-you can guess the order of my Ideas
Trade Vs production
The Mint

The post office

Trade line buildings > Production line buildings
well the post office is better than the stock exchange which is tier 6 production building
Catholics are always having problem staying Catholics

The comet is back !

Many types found , Here's something wrong

The "Portugal just disappeared to thin air event"

-I was looking when i noticed that Portugal had a steep fall in the number of provinces but to my surprise i didn't find it , i haven't checked if it was in a PU with Spain because its holdings went to Spain .
The "i don't know where did they come from"

-A strong continental and a massive colonial Spain which swallowed Portugal had just released catalunya , i hadn't anything with this twist of event but yet they say i helped them and yeah , relations were 200 but for some reason they jumped back to 175.
Country Ranking in 1684

-even after becoming a super power with 200+ provinces compared to my 50 provinces or so , France still has the most men compared to Russia , and the most income compared to Spain.
and that's with the no colonization and not conquering behind the borders of modern France (almost)
