[SOLVED] How to install the linux paradox launcher?

Hi,

I am new here and want to switch from steam to paradox, for I really enjoy your games. Things I am stuck with right now:
1. I downloaded the linux launcher, but my linux mint doesn't know what to do with it. How can I install it?
2. I want to have my steam games from paradox listed in my paradox account. How does it work. I searched for threads, but haven't found any solution yet. I activated the link but nothing has happened yet.

Would be glad if you could hint me to the solutions. Thank you a lot!

1. what you downloaded should be an installer for our client? Note that only games from Stellaris onwards can appear there, not earlier ones.

2. Go into

Paradox Accounts

accounts.paradoxplaza.com

and connect to your Steam account, then

Owned items

forum.paradoxplaza.com

and hit Sync Products.

I had to make the application executable, which was possible via the terminal:

chmod +x launcher-linux-64-setup

other way could be via right click on the app ->access rights -> but didn't work out for me.

I could sync my account with the steam games, but within the launcher my games i.e. Stellaris are shown as not installed. Do I have to install them a second time via paradox launcher, or is there a possibility to sync the steam games to the paradox launcher?

The Paradox client is an alternative to Steam, so yes it requires a separate installation - it is a different build of the game that doesn't look for any Steam components.

If you are okay with Steam, you are probably better off not using our client at all!

But what is the point of this launcher then anyway? There must be some benefits to it, otherwise you wouldn't have gone into trouble making it. I am huge fan of your company and your linux support you know.

It's an alternative to the Steam client and ecosystem, for those who do not like Valve - they are few but quite determined!
