I think when there are a large number of troops posted in a area the providence there should automaticaly drop to 0 revolt risk and area directly surounding should become slightly less likely to revolt. Cause when you think about it would 5,000 farmers with pitchforks really try to start a rebellion when theres a station of 10,000 infantry 5,000 cavaltry and 20 cannons in there town. The answer has to be no. I dont care how angry someone is about something I just have a hard time grasping the idea that there were large numbers of suicidal peasants in europe in this time period.

Actually there are lots of examples of peasants rising against local garrisons where any reasonable assessment of the risks would have precluded it. The peasant revolts/risings during the Thirty Years War are good examples.

Quantitive difference, not qualitative-and certainly not the way that Eu is overgenrous woth troop raising ability.

Actually this was not uncommon in history. Before the age of effective logistics an army had to feed itself on what they could take from the local peasents. If they plundered to much the peasants got upset and picked up the pithforks with bloody fighting, reprisals, and revenge in an expanding cycle as a result.

The need for armies to move to be able to feed itself is something that is not modeld well in EU1. Maybe there should be decreased maintanance when the army is in an unplundered enemy province and increased maintanance at home.

Think of peasant revolts as suicide mision anyways. There is no real hope of "winning" since most peasant uprising had almost no idea what they could to win anyways. Revolts are an act of desperation in many cases.

Plus, in a large province the peasnts down south might be the revolters and not even know your 30k guys are at the north edge of the lands.
