I noticed that when i disband Units the remaining soldiers of these Units are not put back into my Recruit Pool like in other games from Paradox, is this a bug?

Because this can make you run out of Troops really fast.

This is working as designed.

Manpower in Imperator doesn't represent every man you can force into the army* like in later era Paradox games - it is every man in your realm who is willing to join your army for money. If you disband a cohort, the people find something else to do than wait around for your call.

Don't disband your troops if you need them.

* If you want to levy troops, you need to play the Celtic barbarian traditions or the Achaemenid Persian ones. That'll allow you to raise LI and LC for 50 military power and 0 manpower, as many units as you've got cities in the province you raise levies in (on a provincial cooldown.)

Oh ok, you meantion later era games, but the same was with Europa Universalis Rome which not really was later era was it?
Thats what made me think it might be a bug. I always thought the Recruit pools show (Free)Men in an Age that enables them to fight and to be recruited.

Its a strange thought that if you dont need as many troops after a war and disband Units they just vanish.

Right you are; Anyhow, that's how it works in this game. If you want a less fluffy reason than the one I gave which reason also provides some sort of justification for the "why do newly created countries start with full manpower pools rather than at 0, leaving them defenseless", consider the interaction of the Raise Levy action and disband cohort action. :D
