If you ask me, communist Turkey before WWII is bloody epic, Atatürk's last months notwithstanding.

As a Turk all I can say is nobody is able to change the goverment type of Turkey while ATATURK was alive its imposibble...after him some goverments tried to change it (in 1960 to communism in 1998 to islam republic) but army always stopped them.Turkish people always oppose to change of goverment type(even the party they vote tries it) so its something strange.

But its not something bad just gives players diffrent scenerios although I love playing historically and these little changes are not killing the game hope thing in HOI3(Mexican DD) never happens :D

About that symbol its not just belong to israel its used by many middle eastern countries so there is no need to argue about it....

You can pick a fascist nation, then "F12" then "acceptall"...and then try the coup. It will be 100% chance.

Well, I've just come back from a 1936 game with money, acceptall cheats. I can safely say ALL of Europe has a new name when communist.

Safe to say, I owned the world in two days.

Also, why is there no communist India? Same for Asia? WHY NO COMMIE LOVE!?

And WTF on the English red-coat flag in the diplomacy page

edit: also, no commie flag for USA? I am disappoint, same for Canada.

See, the Turkish gentleman agrees that it is not possible. It is like getting German and Austria (eastern part) to speak Schweizer Deutsch.

I don't think we were arguing, I think we were just agreeing. A Magen David is not a very hard symbol to come up with. Just take two triangles, flip one on its top and then superimpose them on top of each other. Cross and Crescent are even easier. :p

On the symbol, if any of you have played EU3, note that the puppet countries of the Ottoman empire (i.e. Kamaran) have the Star of David as their flag, and obviously they aren't Jewish states. It all goes back to early astrological symbols and representations.

Ya, I said that (minus the astrological thing) :p See:

And the Magen David was even used in a few Anatolian Turkic kingdoms, such as Karaman and that other one. You see them in EU III. They confused me for a while until I looked them up. Wait though, when did they put that circular crescent on top of the Dome of the Rock? Was that an Ottoman addition?

Funny how modern people associates symbols with certain people or group.

It's not really odd, it makes perfect sense for people to associate certain symbols with people or groups after a while, and it isn't just modern people. Probably the best example of something reliant upon symbols that have nothing to actually do with waht they are talking about is the humble remote control. http://www.binbin.net/photos/nikkai/big/big-button-remote-big-button-remote-.jpg -- Only a few of those buttons you can guess the meaning and purpose of from looking at them without prior knowledge of our culture (except language ofc). As for people, well associating people with certain symbols just becomes natural after a while, like China with a dragon, or Russians and Berliners with bears. That and stereotyping are just natural parts of peoples' cultural perceptions. (one of the reasons for flags and heraldry)

(I wrote a paper on this topic about the Tartaria tablets and the possiblity the "writing" was really a collection of symbols for which we do not have the context.)

The USA has a communist flag, but you can only get it through the 65% dissent event.

Short of cheating, how do you accomplish such a feat?

On a more on-topic note, it is nice for the DH team to give us all these fun little improbable coups happening. :p

You could do it with espionage mission with smear campaigns with acceptall turned on. Of course that would take a while. As the USA you could just refuse to let the CG slider produce anything.
