Feels weird how in Crusader Kings III, late medieval tech introduces bombards as the final siege weapon. Yet EU4 thinks nobody thought to build them until 1492.

The verbs "Bombard" and "Bombardment" are not the same as the noun "Bombard" that the OP is referring to.navies can do bombards from start,

Artillery increases the odds of getting a breach but it does still happen. I've ran a quick game to test and both castles show they've had their walls breached:For some reason you cant get the "wall breach" siege result if your army doesnt have any artillery units before mil tech 7. So the argument that the army does have "hidden" siege weapons doesnt seem true.

I disagree, artillery is almost exclusively to speed up sieges early game. Their pips lag behind quite a bit for decades.Still not something worth building, most nations would need the increased infantry numbers.
