I like ('36 Scenario aHistorical) conquering the world as France or Italy and so during testing have tried not to do too much with them. I am waiting for 'release' before I play those two. So to answer the question, it will be first France, then Italy, then Japan.
Out of curiosity, devs, how hard is Germany '44? I plan on doing an AAR about it...and I'd hate for that AAR to end in two pages.
I'll give The Big Red Steamroller a go. Spamming infantry, and only infantry from '36.
Maybe with the new combat mechanics INF-spam won't be the most efficient way to victory...
Yeah, you'll have to do what the Soviets did historically:
Line their artillery up wheel-to-wheel for several kilometers, stock up the ammo, and let loose!
Something off the front-line to test the new features... and for a smooth warm-up!

My first game will be as Germany and hopefully losing the war in the east eventually. Currently in HoI2 I have won Barbarossa by early 1942...

I would like to see a post-war scenario ! a Chinese civil war would probably be interesting
then follows the Korean conflict, crush the united nations with your primitive poor-man's army armed with "multinational" weapons(Chinese armies use US/UK/Czech/French/Russian/German/Japanese weapons). I felt proud looking at US tanks exhibited in Chinese museums actually.

I just watched that movie showing all those famous chinese actors about the Chinese civil war a few days ago. Pretty good movie, fortunately they had English subtitles added to it

I loved the scene where Mao can't find any cigarettes to buy, and of course the talking (at least in the English subs) when the soldiers encounter the Great Wall of China (Some landlord has built a wall and our soldiers can't climb it - requesting artillery support)
That movie really wants you to play HoI2 (or AoD) right now with a proper simulation of the Chinese situation from 1945 on
