Actually, Female-Only culture would be rather kick-ass. This time it could invade from Africa. Then you could have a huge final confrontation with 600.000 Mongols, Azteks and Black Amazons fighting it our over the ruins of Aachen, with the Pope forced to watch from his golden cage, bound to crown whoever won.

Then he blames the jews.

I hope to the Gods that it is not another FANTASY DLC. I absolutely hate Sunset Invasion. Talk about total fantasy land 1000 years ago and completely opposite of history, now if this game took place in the present, it would actually be accurate with immigrants conquering some European countries. But the game does not take place in the present, so Sunset Invasion is CRAZY. I literally thought it was a joke when I first heard about it.

I would love for a Holy Roman Empire/empire DLC. It is needed badly. Or just a free patch that actually gives you things to do when you are a vassal. Like when you get appointed to be a councilor, you actually get some power and get to do things from it. It would be awesome if you could actually play the whole game and have fun as a vassal of a "great" king or Emperor.

Look at it this way, in a world where the Sunset Invasion happened, the Aztecs probably managed to conquer their rivals, and started a conflict with the Inca, boosting both of their technological levels. And finally...The Vikings brought ship technology that seeped down to the Aztecs, giving them the means to invade Europe. It's an alternate reality.

Right, LOL

The Aztecs/Native Americans did not even know what metal was. Regardless if Native Americans are always shown with "tomahawks" nowadays, the Native Americans did not have "tomahawks" before the French fur traders traded their francisca throwing axes to them. Also, Native Americans are always pictured with horses nowadays, they did not have horses before Europeans brought horses to America. That is why the Aztecs thought Cortez was a god, he had blonde hair and beard and was on a horse.

It seems like stretching reality too much. If they wanted to do a more plausible CRAZY DLC, they could have chose China invading Europe or even India.

I just hope we don't get another WILD DLC. I mean, Ck2, is a historical game to me and that is why I love it. If I wanted to play fantasy strategy games, I would play starcraft or something similar.

I'm quite confident they knew what gold and copper were. They seem to have forged bronze items too.

Actually, they did. They just didn't have iron.

For the life of me I don't know why people are against Sunset Invasion, For me it is absolutely necessary to have it on because otherwise syphilis shows up for no reason at all and that just really irks me. Besides the fact that after 3 eastern invasions it is nice to have one come from a different direction. I would totally support an invasion coming from south africa as well seeing as Mali and Abyssinia are now thanks to ToG the Easiest Empires to manage and for some reason all the aggression the felt as kingdoms dissipated as soon as they became empire titles. But if we were having a fantasy expansion that doesn't involve invasions then I would want one dealing a return to ancient religions of greece, rome and Egypt and the setting for that could be that when the small followings that that to the old ways saw the pagans of the north and east beat back the new gods they would grow bold and say to the king "see sire these new gods are no match for the gods of our forefathers and we should return to them"

I was not a fan of the idea either, but you sound awfully angry about it. Not to mention, a little off on your history. Firstly, Aztecs and the northern Native Americans, are very different cultures, and still, yes they did know what metal was, it just was not used widely for weaponry. Just because you want to focus on history, doesn't mean you need to insult the native peoples, who for their time were actually quite advanced in many ways.

In actual history the Aztecs don't exist yet when they do the Sunset Invasion of Europe. During this time they're still nomads in the North American plains. A better way of looking at it is that in this alt history, the Aztecs established themselves in Mesoamerica much sooner then in our timeline, and built up a powerful and highly populous empire during the European middle ages. While this didn't happen in our timeline, there isn't anything saying it couldn't have happened. The means that they invade is through numbers and ship technology they learned from Vikings, nothing more. Since they attack during the late middle ages, the tech gap is much more narrow then during the age of exploration.

The Aztecs/Native Americans did not even know what metal was. (...) That is why the Aztecs thought Cortez was a god, he had blonde hair and beard and was on a horse.

That is bunk. Even if they didn't know how to smelt iron or fold steel, copper and and various precious metals features extensively in their art and ceremonial tools. Copper was too precious to be used for common weapons of war, when flint and obsidian would suffice against their neighbours. They were familiar with working metal, just not iron. Remember that naturally occurring iron is pretty uncommon, and pretty useless for tools and weapons unless you add carbon to create steel. As evidenced by Eurasian history, the knowledge of iron smelting could spread quite rapidly. If the the people of the Americas had learned iron smelting and smithing from norse settlers, it's not unlikely the knowledge could have spread quite far in the time before the Sunset Invasion.

Even without iron and steel weapons, the Aztec warriors faced by Cortez was pretty formidable, disease and civil war were large factors in the fall of the empire.

Also, the idea that Cortez was widely seen as some sort of god have been disputed. It is unlikely this was a wide-held belief.

I disagree. Unlikely, yes, and requires a whole lot of "what-ifs", but not impossible. History is full of accidents and unlikely events, and I don't find Sunset Invasion that more far-fetch than some things I've seen happen in CK2.

But then, I find the idea that CK2 is a historical game pretty ludicrous. The moment you start playing, you're venturing into alternative history land. Sometimes you get something that resembles what really happened, but often history will take completely unexpected turns, and I love that aspect of the game.
