League Wars can also end if the opposition league - be it Catholic or Protestant - fails to declare war for too long.

Gee thanks Wiz

What I mean is, "too long" is really vague. In my game I as emperor Prussia have led the protestant league to crush the catholics. In fact, there are only two catholic nations left in the HRE, Bremen and Austria. Outside of them, only Poland, Castile and Granada remain catholic. Yet the religious wars just WON'T END! I have 80 Imperial Authority and it is just piling up because I apparently can't pass reforms until this is over. Its been nearly 50 years since any conflict. How much longer must we wait?!?

Weird, didn't happen to me. I guess it took like 10-15 years for me to get the Treaty event fired after the first war, because Catholics failed to attack again.

In my game the protestants won the first war. The catholics won the second. The protestants won the third. Then the closing event fired during that third war's truce so the catholics didn't exactly "wait too long".
So at this point the whole thing is really unclear.

Well, if you only won once, then the wars aren´t over yet - catholics just went from government into opposition ;) They should be under time pressure though and I agree it is silly not to know how much time do you have. Some note in the HRE screen would be nice.

Found this in the files:

The end league war event will fire when there are no protestant/catholic countries, no electors, no league enemies or no one that has a truce with the emperor and at least 30 years have passed since religious leagues started. Also the emperor must not be at war and must not have a regency.

I don't get this condition. What does "no one that has a truce with the emperor" mean - does that mean any country in the game so I'd have to sit idle for 10 years or so to get all truces expired?

Somehow a war started without me getting involved and later I couldn't enter. Probably because I decided to leave the HRE:p
Well you could have joined a league, anybody can even Ottos, but at the moment you can't join a league if a war is on going. Although Wiz said a while ago that he's going to change it so that you can join a league even if the war is ongoing. I had been in three consecutive war for 15 years and hadn't been able to join the league, since I was at war and while I was finishing my last war the war fired... and the protestants lost.

What does "no one that has a truce with the emperor" mean

I would think that means no one who is affiliated with(a member of) the opposing league shall have a truce with the emperor. If you were the emperor then you would need to ensure you stay peaceful with the opposite league members. If you are not the emperor then I assume it's up to the AI gods as to whether the Emperor stays out of harms way long enough for the final event to fire

It's 1684 and I have no truces with all four league members. However, I have truces with Timurids and others. This may mean no-one meaning any country in which case I'd have to wait until 16098 doing nothing
