This has been discussed a lot before, and, well, I don't think you'll get a fair verdict on these forums.
I really would like to play this two games at the same time, but unfortunately they are too complex to do this on two computers....both are phantastic!

Both are great. EUII is a lot simpler, but sometimes the micromanagement in Vicky makes me long to play EUII again. But I've resisted so far!

Well, what do you expect if this is posted on the Victoria forum, full of Victoria players.
I prefer Vicky overall, the economy is much better with many new resources and much more do improve in provinces, however I like the colonisation in EU2 better.

Interesting most of the comparisons are made between Vicky and EUII, and only occasionally is the question Vicky vs HoI. Must be they appeal to two different crowds or something. They are radically different in approach to be sure.
Both Vicky and EU2 are empire building games where war is only one of the several means to expands, HOI is a game solely centred on war, so yes it attracts a different kind of crowd.

No i thought alot of you guys played EU2 and therefore could judge fairly.
Maybe i should have included, "for thoose of you that played EU2 which games are more fun ..."
Are the bugs and stuff ironed out by now? ( its a honest curious question, not wanna start a heated discussion about it).
And how is MP?
Most of the bugs, and AFAIK all the game-breaking ones have been fixed, (and I have every faith that Paradox will keep working to fix the ones that remain).
I've played some EU2 (admittedly not that much), but the way I see it, EU2 has less variety and flexibility than Vicky and therefore is not match for it.

The difference is mainly the complexity. Vicky is much more complex, allowing you to do more but also requiring you to do more. What's fun depends on yourself. I like both, but currently I'm certainly a Vicky addict, I haven't played EU2 in SP for over 3 months
On Vicky MP I don't know much yet, but it can be pretty fun as Europe Ablaze shows
