The problem is that if leadership hierachies require a significate amount of management, it will have an effect on multiplayer games.

BUMP!

So, are there any news on the Command System???

We gamers require division leaders to be left with their divisions when combined into higher commands, so they can earn experience and recieve promotions in a reasonable way. Just for your information in case you had forgot!

czar1111, we are working on a trial version of the beer augmented box trap to catch Johan. If a reply isn't offered to this pressing issue soon, we will go ahead and research "basic string". :D

Hi Ardito!
Yeah - we know so little. And meaner still is the Betas who have started the "I know more than you do!" posts.

So, as I have some spare DI I have decided to "Share Research" - "Basic String" :D

I think we will see HQ units which are small and weak in themselves, but which act as supply conduits and exert positive combat modifiers to units in the same state.

HOI has paralleled WiF in so many others ways - it probably won't deviate too much even now.

Which is a good thing.

Unfortunately I have never seen female commander in HoI. Are there any? One would think there should be some in the airforce (at least Soviet and German one).

Yugoslavia can have Marija Bursac - she can be commando leader :D
This could be a way to pay tribute to her and her brave actions.

I remember that in Hoi I used to create groups of units by means of using the Ctrl-number key shortcut, with a leader commanding it's allocated number of units acording to his rank, thus creating an stack of units. In the end however I ceased to use this as I discovered that you don’t get the same info out of the selection as you get when you select a single stack of units commanded by a sole leader. If they could somehow arrange this I guess that would do the trick without much complications.

However it would be nice if you could somehow create the structure of a division or an army and assign them leaders, to operate them as a single unit. Perhaps a colour coding would let you now which units are part of the same group, gaining bonus in combat when operating together. Other games use this and it worked really well, however I don’t know it that would be too much tactical depth for a game that is after all intended to be an strategic sim.

No, my GUESS is that they are small units with very little (no) combat strength on their own. I wonder how much they 'cost' to build?
Again my GUESS is that they cost very little but take TIME to build.

Why sould they take a long time to be built?

As far as I know, Armies were created/modified all the time. Units changed from one to another...

I cannot help wondering if the names to the right of the Picture of Moscow might also be related to the presence of the HQ unit?
  • Nogins -
  • Kalini -
  • Rybins -
  • Mozhai -
  • Rzhev -
are all neighbouring provinces - but are they also the provinces under control of the HQ unit??

My guess/hope is that it has somethingto do with infra or supply ... that now infra is not a feature of a province but from one center of a province to another ... along this line combat (movement=attack) could take place ...

what I'm almost sure (67%) about is that the little green bars have something to do with the progress-bar in the battle screen ... in other words they turn partly red when an attack comes from that direction and might shift according to who's winning
