I am actually OK, with this. This will be a test run of the type of quality work coming out. Truthfully, I would not trust anybody but CDPR to do a proper VTM:B sequel. I know everyone says "But obsidian has a lot of troika employees..." Yea..but they are not the ones running things. It is clear from their last couple of games, they have really toned down their games and lost their edge. I think this is one of the reasons Chriss Avellone left, suppression of artistic freedom. Can anybody honestly see modern obsidian releasing the amazing VTMB today? I can't. ALL the mature elements would have been removed. Sex/embrace intro? Nope. Sexy characters like Velvet, Venus, jeannette? Yea, not in a million years and I doubt most female characters would even show any skin. Probably remove the strip club and have the one token prostitute. Definitely remove anything that might offend someone like the amazing fat Larry, asian vampires,..etc. Would not have your own ghoul(slave) like heather poe, if we did it would be some ugly dude that was a criminal and not an innocent attractive girl. On top of that, obsidian LOVES combat, forget stealth, forget solving issues without violence, social skills..etc. Obsidian will definitely go heavy in fighting, which sucks because I love playing a social/stealth character. I got through the whole game without violence till the finale boss battles which forced you to fight, but before that the game was amazing. Now those are just some things off the top of my head. It is those elements that are some of the reasons the game has such a cult following, remove those elements and you have a much lesser game. I just can't see obsidian or any other company pulling it off, what I see obsidian making is just another VTM:Redemption. Not a bad game, but not anything that will create a cult following. I really hope obsidian does not try to do a VTM:B2, they will definitely screw it up and give us a watered down PG-13 version of the game with heavy combat which will not have the magic that made the first one.
