Confirmed, malta spawned in my dutchcovy gameI imagine Malta can show up from time to time, as it's the only tag with Maltese as primary culture, so any revolters would defect to them once Sicily loses its core on the island.

Unused daimyos (beyond their start date) are: Amago, Asakura, Hojo, Maeda, Tokugawa, Chosokabe, Ikeda, Mori and Oda.
I think four Laotian splinters should be spawned by special disaster for Lan Xang, Deccan-Annam-Banten-Cirebon-Demak-Perak-Khoshuud-Zunghar should get cores or events at 1444 bookmark, while Etruria and Langang should be simply deleted from the game because there is no way or need to represent them (this has already happened to few tags, such as Lancaster/York - they were simply deleted).
Tokugawa and Oda not existing at 1444 is really a shame. These 2 daimyos united Japan and deserve to exist and to get unique national ideas.
Can't remove them until the later bookmarks go. Which means the tags stay in EU4.I'd rather all unused daimyo tags dissapeared from the game because they're literally carbon copies of each other.
Either break Japanese culture in smaller ones, give special events/NIs to most daimyos, or just let them go.

Every culture will get a primary nation. Sapmi is the primary nation of the Sami culture.Well, what about Sampi? They aren't available at any bookmark, and can only be created via rebellion. They don't even start with any cores.

It slows down the game a lot. Most tags still operate their AI when having no provinces. Is there a limit to the number of tags in the game?
Is there a specific reason for removing tags and replacing them with others?
I hope it's not only me that enjoys the concept of totally Balkanising every region.
My mistake, I was basing it off the localisation files, which I've been playing around with recently. So, the tags aren't there, but there is still localisation for them floating around, if you'd be interested in pruning it.Keeping an eye on this discussion.
Of these only Revolutionary France is an unused tag.
Travancore was renamed to Venad before the initial release of EU4. Venad is a bit more general and works for a longer time period which is why it was renamed.
Deva Bengal, Taira, Fujiwara and Tachibana have never existed as tags in EU4 (though they did exist in EU3).
