Now I saying Holy order for reason one better then other is just bishop is different monster then play fedual lord, but Catholic older and Orthodox, is to different in many, easy to go for them to put together with some differnt flavor decisions, and events.

Now if done right the pagans would be money makers just because several pagan religious in game. There could five to six different five dollar LoR DLC for each different Pagan faith, of course some people would even pay ten. And of let not forget the faces, unit pack songs, that coming out.

So I feel pagans would last one just because of the money making potential.

Any one else ideas?

I'd be disappointed if they released one $5 DLC for each pagan faith rather than one $10 DLC for all of them, unless each of those included major additions to gameplay but I doubt that's likely.

I hope each one is major additions. I would pay five buck each one if major. Guys many different Pagan Faith are in the game?

An expansion for each pagan faith is unfeasible and pointless. Appart from cultural differences there arent that many functional differences between them and those that exist can be represented by a handful of events per faith. Plus, that development time can be better used for other content.

Personally, my heart goes to holy orders and theocracies w/religion overhaul while my nose goes to pagans due to the requests. I'll be happy either way tough. Just no more of this only playable under certain conditions because we dont think the others are fun crap, unlock everyone of the kind, maybe with the exception of the pope.

There doesn't need to be big expansions for each pagan group - but, rather, I think ideally there should be big expansions for each pagan group. What I mean is one for the northern pagans - Finnic, Baltic, and Norse pagans; and one for steppe pagans - Cumans, Mongols, etc. The former can focus on the northern Crusades, conversion to Christianity, and possibly even include stuff for the holy orders as well (so a sort of Clash of the Faiths thing); the latter can focus on improving the steppe nomads and the hordes.

There can later be smaller, SI-sized DLC for the West African pagans and/or any pagan groups left out.


Personally I'm frankly not too interested in holy orders or Catholic overhauls, if only because they're already the most fleshed out group in my opinion (being the "default"), but I don't mind if that's what's next - just means there's more time for the pagans and the like!

Oh, haven't seen this type of thread before... anyways there should only be one pagan DLC that handles all of them in some kind of way. If you think every group will get a separate DLC then you're not thinking realistically.

Polytheistic religions like "Norse", Romuva and Suomenusko wasn't all the same for every area. Some worshiped one particular god whilst another tribe worshiped another and they had different traditions based on that god even if they had the same religion and thus it's impossible to make everything super detailed.

If PI intend to make a "Pagan" DLC in the near future is should cover them all with basic events and mechanics just like with Islam and Christianity which are religions that hold many different interpretations yet are bundled together in CK2, as it should be.

A lot of the suggestions we hear in threads like these are patch material, not DLC material.

Catholic over hall more letting play as the christian Priest since they where lord in there own right as well.

If they split up the pagans, I'm sure the Canaris and Mali pagans will either get left out entirely, released with basically nothing unique and under one of the DLCs not relating to them, or they'll just cost $1.

I'd love to see a DLC that improves the Papacy and Pentarchs.
For the Popes, there should be a cardinal system and a new Pope being elected by them, so it will actually make sense gameplay-wise to install sons/brothers/etc. as bishops: they might become Pope one day. Currently you can only get this done if you install an Antipope.
Likewise for Patriarchs there should be an election between all bishops of the faith, with the winner being installed as the new Patriarch. Same gameplay reasons.

They could even leave the Pope/Patriarch unplayable and I'll be happy.

I would not be interesting in any “pagan” dlc, it does not make any sense to me in game about medieval period, and I am not sure why OP thinks that would be cash cow. Because it does have a loud supporters here on forum? That does not mean it would sell well, just maybe. The market for this game is much larger than just the members of the site as well as many people on site do not reply or send any message about that issue. And it is mostly the people from Scandinavia or those who’s fascinating with Norse and surrounding old worshiping. No offence meant. I stated this already, I think this is more for another PI game and that is “ROME” (2).

As for the question what would be the next DLC, it could be anything, any of two suggested by OP, but might be something completely unexpected (like that crazy apache invasion, or maybe something as a nice surprise this time).

I would like orders/bishops to be playable but I am not sure what kind of game mechanic for that would be possible and playable, so they might never made DLC about that either.

I would not be interesting in any “pagan” dlc, it does not make any sense to me in game about medieval period, and I am not sure why OP thinks that would be cash cow. Because it does have a loud supporters here on forum? That does not mean it would sell well, just maybe. The market for this game is much larger than just the members of the site as well as many people on site do not reply or send any message about that issue. And it is mostly the people from Scandinavia or those who’s fascinating with Norse and surrounding old worshiping. No offence meant. I stated this already, I think this is more for another PI game and that is “ROME” (2).

As for the question what would be the next DLC, it could be anything, any of two suggested by OP, but might be something completely unexpected (like that crazy apache invasion, or maybe something as a nice surprise this time).

I would like orders/bishops to be playable but I am not sure what kind of game mechanic for that would be possible and playable, so they might never made DLC about that either.

Again they said there going everything playable but the Pope. So again I would t see how pull off playable Bishops. If had think about you would play as family that run church land, try to get member of your family into higher in church intern they offer patronage to there family?

If anything there is a lot of pagan hatred here on the forums that I do not think is common among the average customer. I am tired of all the pagan bashing in every thread like this. I personally am not interested at all in playing pagans, but I see no reason to be rude to those who are. Especially since pagans were an important force in Europe during the entire timespan of the game.

Northern Crusades were a big part of northern Europe's medieval time period, so a pagan DLC dealing that would be entirely appropriate.


Not to mention those fellows from... Mongolia, was it. You know, Genghis Khan and his folks, did a lot of important things during the medieval period. Heard they were pagan, too. Of course, I could just be rememering wrong, I swear they were pagan... but maybe they can't be pagan, because there's no way pagans can be that important, right?


I really don't get why some assume that all people who want pagans want a Viking neo-pagan revival. I think having a Viking DLC is ridiculous, but I also think the other pagans deserve some gameplay too. Lithuania, Cumans, Mongols, West Africans, and so on - they didn't just sit around doing nothing during the medieval period. They were important, involved in politics and trading and cultural exchanges, they did things. There could be so many things a "pagan" DLC could focus on other than giving us the opportunity to go on anachronistic Viking raids.

Well, for the people saying the pagans don't quite fit the Medieval timeline of the game, I'm sure the Middle Ages didn't begin in 1066, maybe PI will extend the timeline a bit further to the past, maybe to the the formation of the HRE in 962. I think there were far more pagans at that time.

Have you ever actually looked at the map when playing this game? There are large pagan areas and powerful pagan countries in every single start date.

Heck, given this game takes place during the golden age of the steppe empires, the rise of Lithuania, and the technologically innovative Song Dynasty, what really makes no sense is that you're playing the unimpressive backwater Christians in a game about the medieval period. :)
