After the just recent hotfix patch for 2.2.6 are there some major bugs still present that I'm forgetting about ? (the new colonies unrest and federation fleet cap bugs are supposedly fixed now).

when's the next dev diary for the next addition to the game
Today and last week we had an patch or an update of the beta.
This is worth a dev blog. Specially a filler dev blog because if they have nothing to show.

They can give a patch every week with 10 bugs fix/balance/IA or perf improvement during 3 months, and i will be very happy.

I've been waiting patiently since the 2.2 for it to finish cooking and have been checking the forums regularly to get a feel for the state of the game. From what I've seen lately, combined with Glavius AI and Automatic Pop Migration mods, I may just jump in to play finally.

After the just recent hotfix patch for 2.2.6 are there some major bugs still present that I'm forgetting about ? (the new colonies unrest and federation fleet cap bugs are supposedly fixed now).
The only thing that comes to my mind are the Infestors of the Prethoryn Swarm. The Swarm will invade habitated planets, but it won't infest uninhabited ones.
They devs already confirmed that they are going to fix it in the 2.2.5/2.2.6 thread, but they said that this is somehow a rather complex issue to fix and will take a while.
Decide for yourself, if that counts as a major bug.
I'm really happy with 2.2.6 in it's current state. 2.2. was a really buggy release, but it looks like it's finally in a good shape now.

Never tried the Glavius AI mod, is it really a marked improvement over the regular AI?, if so, why isn't it integrated into the game?
Most simply, because reasonable people can differ about whether it is the correct marked improvement.

How's the situation with minority pops growth? Because when total minority started taking over my empire I just couldn't bear it... That's an awesome example how a bad game design can change a xenophile to xenophobe. I always liked multispecies empires in Stellaris and I happily signed migration treaties with neighbours, but when my stupid humans stopped to breed I was so mad at this sheer stupidity that I quit and did not return since.

Realistic minority handling is all I want right now.

AFAIK it's still bad but in the dev diary it was mentioned that the system will be improved (probably next big patch tied to a DLC), the other major problem for me is how bad is the empire management when playing wide ( I hope this will be addressed as well). At least the major bugs since the Megacorps expansion are finally cleaned out (or at least it seems so).
Playing with Glavius AI mod is still a must though.

They further modified Pop Growth, it should be more "realistic".

Oh, well... to be safe I think I'll wait a bit longer. Making only one pop grow at a time was a very bad idea (all pops should simultaneously slowly grow, with speed depending on their quantity) and this simply had to happen. I don't know if in future patches it'll be fixed, because if not - it may be the end of Stellaris to me for a looooong time.

It's still a pain with pop growth and minority species outbreeding the general populace of your empire...but it is slightly...ever so slightly better.

More work needs to be done on this Paradox. The problem to figure out is singular pop growth, get that sorted and this issue can be put to rest.

I have heard pop growth considers habitability more now. Also I remember a post saying 2.2.6 broke Syncretic Evolution because of how pops are chosen to grow but I have not tried it myself. Can anyone share his/her experience with it now?

Camera pan stutter improved ever so slightly but it's still noticeable at more than x1 speed on latest 2.2.6
In case your wondering what it looks like here see video below. Recorded at 120 fps with OBS uploaded as FLV on 2.2.5 but still applicable to 2.2.6
It's important to note the camera pan stutter only occurs when time is passing and the faster time passes the more it stutters.


I've already tried a lot of different configurations like unplugging my second monitor. I even updated to the latest Nvidia driver (419.35) and tried again on 2.2.6 but same thing.
I don't believe my hardware configuration is niche or not up to the task. Nor am I running some obscure operating system.

@Jibril And this is in an early stage or beginning of the game right?

Your system-specs are quit good, like mine. Even when you are able live with that the lategame becomes so slow and stuttery that i mostly quit campaigns at 2400-2500 because panning through the galaxy is slow, the moving objects and symbols are stuttering, menus and windows are laggy and so on and on and on... (not even mentioning the qol for managing a big empire)

@Jibril And this is in an early stage or beginning of the game right?

Your system-specs are quit good, like mine. Even when you are able live with that the lategame becomes so slow and stuttery that i mostly quit campaigns at 2400-2500 because panning through the galaxy is slow, the moving objects and symbols are stuttering, menus and windows are laggy and so on and on and on... (not even mentioning the qol for managing a big empire)

Yup, it's starts at beginning of the game and slowly gets worse over time.
My buddy's on a laptop and he gets the same thing too with a completely different hardware configuration than mine.

We haven't played Stellaris since 2.2, been waiting for a fix but I'm not sure PDX is aware of the problem.
Stutter only occurs when time is passing & camera is moving and faster time = more stutter

@Jibril I think they are aware of this. I started a new campaign a few days ago and in general the performance has increased tbh. This daily stutter isnt so hard at panning around atm, but what i see in the movements of ships, symnbols etc the stuttering is very hard on daily basis. The game slowed down in the late game in earlier version but this... You can even see this in their dev-clash and how slow the pace of game is actually. Nobody can tell me that this is fun to play for them, and of course for us.
