So, what is the point of disabling Hellenic and Pagan in Ruler Designer?

I really don't know why people don't use mods for this sort of stuff. Since you can't get achievements with RD anyway, we can avoid the tired old canard of "I want achievements though!!" so this is the perfect time to pull up Ancient Religions Reborn or, come on man, When the World Stops Making Sense. If you're a fan of Roma (Which let's face it, if you want Hellenic in Ruler Designer you're certainly a devotee of the Empire) you really owe it to yourself to try out WtWSMS which is breathtakingly well-done. You can also play as Neo-Platonists, Cybelian cultists, the Roman Senate, and all sorts of neat remnants of the Empire in addition to proper Hellenic.

I feel like people keep forgetting you can play as Aztecs. If Pdox had never made sunset invasion, their arguments against Hellenism would have probably stood better. The apologists on these forums sure love to forget that detail though, they keep ignoring it in other threads when it's brought up.

Paradox has an 'I win' point for every argument. Its summed up as 'we develop this game'. They do not want to support Hellenism, so they do not support Hellenism, no more than they support Celtic Christianity, Celitc Paganism, Ancient Egyption religion or whatever odd sect you could name. They do not have to support things just because a few people cry loudly about it.
As has been pointed out many, many times, you can mod the game or download an existing mod, just like anybody interested in a long list of alternate religions, or enhancements of existign religions.

Hellenic definitely deserves to not only be re-enabled in Ruler Designer, but given a bit of love, same as the other religions. Doesn't matter if it wasn't historically still around; CKII isn't a history simulator.

CKII's devs shouldn't have to waste time on something that is not interesting to them and is used only by a small amount of players just because that small amount of players is very vocal about their cause.
It's like adding Celtic paganism or Arab paganism and then giving them a slew of unique mechanics despite the fact that only a small amount of players would actually use it.
I'd honestly prefer that they maybe, oh, I don't know, improve the pagans that already exist (which are goddamn terrible, by the way) or split the giant Uralic religion blob into smaller units.

Europe's "mother religion"?
Afaik, europe has had plenty of different religions in different areas, and most of those are dead by the time of CM.
We might as well add celtic to the game for all I care, since they were present in quite a large areas well.
And I wonder if it should be added for the sake of history files...

I think it's funny how people say "CK2 isn't a history simulator" and then get grumpy about Sunset Invasion.

Look, Hellenism is cool. I'd love to see more features for Hellenism. But there are *priorities* here. And a Hellenic DLC or any ancient religion DLC has got to be super low on the priority chain. That's just the way it's gotta be.
It's not a question of "is this worth including in this game" it's "is this MORE worthy than all this other stuff" ?

Wait so if i get ruler designer i can only be Christian or jew? (With soa) even with the old gods i can't be a pagan? Why bother then? I wanna be a possessed insane pagan not Christian. Or maybe nestirian or whatever the devil worshipers are called.
Eh... you can choose pagans. Germanic, Baltic, Finnic, Slavic, West African... they are still there.

Sunset Invasion was done in the devs' free time and does not really make up part of PDS's overall strategy for the game. In fact, people are unhappy with SI because it is inconsistent with the rest of the game. However, an official response would be good to clarify the devs' intentions.
