I’ve seen and used a certain strategy before where at the start of the game you DOW Egypt. The goal is to take all of the OE cores in Syria, for later use as bargaining chips.
My question is, where do you draw the line with regards to trading those provinces to OE. Since they are OE cores, the Ottomans will pay dearly for them. Unfortunately at the start of the game they lack money and tech, which only leaves land in the Balkans. With 200 relations, OE is willing to give 5 to 1 in a trade, but that seems too gamey? Would a 2 to 1 ratio be more fair?
