The toponymic name Lamego was derived from Lamaecum, a Hispano-Celtic and Roman derivative referring to owners of agrarian titles in the 3rd century around the local castle
Interesting! Well it looks like Cristiano Ronaldo has some competition, the Highest Paid Athlete Of All Time earned the equivalent of over $15 billion in today's US Dollars was born in what is now Lamego, Portugal. His nickname was ''The Lamecus'' a Charioteer. :D
