Can't really agree with this, though. I feel like the game got tons of new content between this and Leviathans. The new dynamic faction / ethos mechanics really make the game feel like a grand strategy title.
Yeah, now the game actually forces me to make decisions and think about things, whereas before you'd always do the same X things in the same order each game.

This might seem a bit premature, but I think that each Tradition tree should be expanded to something like 2-3 times its current amount. That way you can really focus on a tradition rather than having to pick all of them, some of which are completely irrelevant to your ethos, to unlock every Ascension perk.

So, let's say you fully flesh out a 15 focus Supremacy tree, a 15 focus Harmony tree, and spend the last 5 on Prosperity. You've unlocked every Ascension perk so now the focuses are capped and the extra Unity goes to something else... maybe research? I don't know. I just get this big feeling that the Traditions have a lot of room for expansion, you know, getting a new bonus every 5 focuses on the tree with something really worthwhile at the end. Stuff like that.

I really love thee flavor that the Traditions tree brings into the game, but I would really love it if the trees were extended in length, and rather than award just a finisher and starting bonus, it should award a mid-adopter bonus. If the tree is 10-long, give us an adopter bonus, a 5-point bonus, and a finisher bonus. Just like above, also giving an ascension perk for every 5 or so point put into all trees. I don't think that you have to hard cap the Traditions, but if you did, just have the game give to a +1% bonus to all resources except unity every so much unity.

I'd like to see them have a look at how the camera works. The game has great graphics, but I rarely see much of them, because it is more advantageous to be zoomed out for a strategic view. In particular, it would be nice if the default view of a specific planet zoomed in so that the gorgeous planet graphics took up a good chunk of the screen, but still showed stations and fleets in orbit. Also, a smooth scrolling transition between the system view and system view.

Warfare is the obvious next "big" thing to build on. Combat is quite cluncky at times, with only some of theproblems being:

1. Doomstacking: it's partially inevitable, but there is no real not to do it at the moment. In MOO3, I had would need to keep border fleets to control the frontier systems from raids. In DW, I need to assign a fair part of the fleet for escort/anti-pirate duties. In SotS, a bit of both. In Stellaris, I would keep my fleet in a single doomstack, only splitting it my enemy has nothing to threaten me.

2. Ground combat: barebones and not really fun. I made a thread a while back and the issues raised still stand.

3. Stations: for a whole class of designs, all of them are very very situational. Even in a hyperlane-only game, there are not that many uses for them for most of the game.

It would be nice if they added a option to make a template where you can indicate what buildings you want on a planet.
So i can just colonize a planet give it the template i want instead of checking every few years to see if i already can build the things i want before tossing the planet into a sector.

Better combat/warfare in general...

Improved ground combat
Rework of missiles and an xl missile weapon
Better control over your fleets behavior.
Ascendancy perks for Super Dreadnought-like Flagships and planet killers.
Bringing back oversized stations and ships for your rulers, probably as a civic.

Second on my stuff I want list is simple more things to do mid-late game. Events, exploration, ect.

Given the state of the sector AI, I don't think this is something I'd trust. Maybe we could get an Upgrade All or Remove All Tile Blockers switch instead. At least that would reduce the micro aspect.

The things that the game currently needs the most is:

1 - A COMPLETE OVERHAUL of the economy system, with proper, trade and culture, alongside other ways of building the economy, the current building and station system is probably the weakest part of the game.

2 - A rework of war and war demands, combat itself needs some work, and I'm not sure why a year in the game still uses a ridiculous rigid war demands system, it should have turned to a dynamic system on 1.1 already.

Some quality of life things would certainly be welcome too, like automatic upgrading of buildings without having to click on every single slot, automating of construction bots to use excess materials, better UI, and so on... These, while welcome, are not that necessary to actually make the game good (I still have high hopes for Stellaris, but it's still not quite there yet).

I would ask Paradox, to make the Galaxy more alive. Trade ships, civilian ships, moving about. I would also love, if paradox added some galactic WMD. I really liked, how a rival superpower was very agitated about me building a circle world somewhat near their borders. They assumed I was building a weapon, and demanded to inspect the facility. I wish I could have built the very thing they suspected I was building. I would like more events, including more silly events, or just weird ones, like a star trek kind of mixed bag of all kinds of stuff happening, just for flavor. I don't want every event to have a huge impact, or immediate impact on a civilization, but they do make the galaxy feel more a live, and more mysterious. I'd like more planetary super projects, or wonders. Like this super expensive building project to upgrade a planet capital into a super artistic/monumental/scientific center at great cost. More improvement types on the planets in general. More colonization events. More art variations for ships of different species. A mechanic where a small, or even a single system civilization, how ever hard to do, is a viable strategy. Like a great center of galactic trade, or culture. More treaties types, as well as deeper protection and alliance mechanics. I loved the Utopia DLC, great job Paradox! Just more stuff like that! Thank you all, cheers!

I think I am the only one who does not have a problem with doomstacks. I actually think they are a cool mechanic of the game. However AI is not smart enough to capitalize on it. In my game I was fighting against stronger empires. Their combined fleet was 50% bigger than mine but they just camped near the border as I was siegeing their planets one by one. AI is easily foolable right now.

Also game lacks balanced defansive play. If you play defansive, you still should spend the same amount as an aggresive empire spends to be able to defend yourself, that makes no sense.

And I'd like to see some more covert diplomacy like provoking factions in other empires.

I want a trade system that actually makes some planets and regions more important then others. This will also provide more strategic depth. Also pirates etc. Could be added. Important regions could also provide a reason to conquer. Now I don't really see a reason to go to war. Blobbing seems tto be the main reason for many.

Diplomacy needs to be drastically expanded. There is almost no real interaction between empires. Federations could be deepened. With nations having to follow specific rules in order to become or stay member. Rules about purging, specific species rights, ethics, etc.
A space UN would be even on top of that.
With it's capital on one of the homeworlds.
Would be nice if there are certain crisis' that could even trigger events like for example the engimatic fortress event. Lots of choice.

Doomsday weapons are a must for me.
Maybe I don't want to conquer but just punish. Have a nice fleet in orbit launching nukes and turn a planet into a tombworld.
Would be nice if the event will be described at the planet description. 'Nuked into oblivion by *enter empire name here*"
Ther could ofcourse be surviving pops. But their technology level could be lowered back to primitive stage. This could add a lot of roleplay and immersion and an extra sense of powerplay.
I'm not too fond of completely removing planets because well, there wouldn't be a trace of your destruction in the long run. Or would it?

This made me think of asteroid fields.
There should be some sort of permanent asteroid field that are not or hard to pass. Perfect place for space pirates ( Omega Station :) )

I could type a whole lot more but you get the idea.

Expansion and redesign of the Federation system. Maybe a voting system on who leads the Federation, or something along those lines.
Borrow a thing or two from the Holy Roman Empire in Europa Universalis IV and make it so that you can eventually vassalize other, weaker members of the Federation.
Something to give me some incentive to pick a Federation outside of multiplayer with friends would be nice.

Sabotage and such? AI revolt levels of unfun. And either they would need to tone it down to the point where it becomes completely pointless or everyone doing it to everyone would grind the game to a screeching halt as every spaceport would explode seconds after being finished.

Could be something like lowering a planets shields for a short window of time, causing enemy fleets to get a bad order and veer off track, or just assassinating a talented admiral.
