You can't escape those.
But yes of course we're used to a lot of european names, but still, Inca? Zulu? Swahili? Han? Japanese?
Not for me, sorry. Could use latin letters though, but then again it seems rather pointless...
Like most others have already said localised names are better, because those create realism and feeling that you are playing with specific country.
I vote for localized names. But it would be nice if Paradox released full list of localized names, so users could help in localizing. There are hundreds of languages, I'm sure help is needed, so there would be less mistakes like Karolis Dapkunaite.
Armee du Roi and Ejercito Real do good job for immersion - I`m all for it.
Japanese names in latin is ok for me, anyways you can rename them if you don`t like the original ones... though russian names would look a bit unfamiliar in latin script

Localised names all the way. Brings much needed immersion and feeling of having distinct country.

Localized. Helps me learn so that I recognize the ethnicity/country of people I encounter in real life.
Just gotta take care about nations that games usually get all wrong (Asia, any non-Turk muslim nations, Russia. Balkans etc.)

What do you mean? It was national army/navy names, not provincial names
But you maybe mean that the finnish troops (some of Sweden's regiment that is) should have finnish names? In that case I would agree.

Most languages will just look like someone belched a bunch of letters (or symbols) at the screen if they go for immersion. I won't know what they mean, how to pronounce them, and I won't really be able to tell one from another, especially when you get away from Spain, France, England, or Italy.
It's also a hell of a lot more user friendly.

I have a slight preference for English. Ideally we could have an option setting for this though. (With a 4:1 ratio so far wanting localized names though it may not be worth the trouble.)
