So um Trebizond

Ive tried four Trebizond starts and I cant make it 15 years without *insert Islamic blob here* trying to eat me. Anyone have any suggestions/ideas?

3 of the 4 runs the qara's DoW'd me within a year game four I went a good period of time without a qara DoW, and I managed to snag erzincan from the aq quyonlu(the mamluks and qaras jumped them too) and I attacked Circassia. Due to the Georgians taking the capital(I got the rest of hteir provinces) so I couldn't vassalize them so I snagged a coastal province then planned on turning them into a march.

Then the ottomans with the crimeans attacked me game over.

So basically it's like playing an harder Byzantium.
I'm going to start a game tomorrow with trebizond, maybe I'll try an exodus strategy

I started a few games so far and it seems if the AI is controlling Trebizond, then all the big powers around it, either ally it or guarantee it, so it survives for awhile (longest I've played is 50 years).

Yeah I know the AI goes after the player(atleast I think its coded to) so I've struggled to live past 15 years.

From what I remember the best plan was an albania style exodus. I think it was to theodoro into the genoan lands? I cant remember, its been awhile.

Ai is not coded to go after player. Ottos and qara just like eating trebizond.

Earlier today before cs came out i got a good Trebizond going, aq q attacked mad so qq and otto's joined the war, i sieged them and left the war going, declared war on circassia and full annexed, declared on gh who were getting crushed and took provinces and released astrakhan, then i peaced aq q out for money, they otto's declared on byz. I no cb'd byz and sniped Constantinople and all was good. then i made the mistake of attacking Ottos with poland's help and lost Constantinople. then the save got de ironman'd for some reason.

Had to start another due to the save getting corrupted for whatever reason.
