Oh. My. God.

Paradox, if you still blame the beta-testers, do feel free to invite me, next time :p

You dont want to beta test! You get blamed for a lot of stuff.

I was a beta tester for Earth and Beyond, it was a sad thing to watch. The westwood devs were all friendly, would listen to people and make changes, they had big ideas they wanted for the game.. Then EA started tearing westwood to shreads and started replacing the team with people that were just profit first jerkoffs. Slowly most the original devs left the project out of disgust/fear whatever. The game was nowhere near complete when the EA backed devs put the stamp on it, we warned them that it will flop, and they didnt really care.

My personal belief is EA wanted to kill it, but since it was in development so long they released it with the intent of killing it in a year, they just wanted to recoup any money they could for the time.

And we all know what happened to westwood, they were closed down shortly before the release. Its fun watching devs go from happy and inovated to unemployed and disgruntled...

Thats why there is an Earth and beyond emulator right now =P a disgruntled former westwood now EA employee leaked the source coding to our website.

I think the problem here is, that paradox could not decide if they wanted a generic AI(everything is possible) or if they wanted to stick to history. So some parts of the game assume: Country xyz might be axis, while other parts of the game allow xyz to be allies and vice versa.

In my game, my early agression made japan join the allies. But they are still at war with most allies countries.

Next patch will bring some consistence into the system, i hope.

yup

of course how Threat and Neutrality works

they really cant get rid of decisions causing war..

So they are stuck in a bit of a pickle
