So, my ally can just give my provinces away now?

it's not so bad.

Most of the time, probably not.

But in my case, Venice, who Serbia handed off Epirus to, has a monstrous network of allies, meaning I can't take it back. What's worse is, they're now fabricating claims all over Greece.

None of this had any reason to happen, except for a broken game mechanic.

I can't help but imagine Byzantine soldiers returning home from Crimea, only to find Venetians garrisoning the fortress.

"What are you doing here, this is our fort, leave!"
"Your fort? This is our fort, we just got it."
"What? Who gave you the idea that you could just walk in here and take over, unopposed?"
"Serbia."

'The player does it, therefore it is justified if the AI does it!'

Yeah, no.

The AI doesn't take a dip relation to get MA, so why does the player??!?!?!?!

Absurd logic.

Well, I mean, how many times have I sieged half of France and the leader peaces out leaving me with nothing but mil tradition.

It rubs both ways guys. I don't love the ability to negotiate for yourself being gone but it is what it is, it's not so bad.

yep it was pretty decent before but now the AI is back to being selfish. i know they changed it so you need to have claims or cores but even then the AI very rarely gives me anything. also the war leader should really have to split up any cash it gets from peace. that war i was in i did most of the work and Austria managed to peace out with 4500 while i got absolutely nothing besides the joy of sitting for 10 years for manpower to recover and truces with most of Europe

Yes, it sucks...but they join you for your wars and give you occupation of every province they don't have an interest in.

My favourite is when the AI white peaces just after you finish killing their army and stationing troops on every province. I did this for Poland last night v. the Teutonic Order and friends, then white peace...are you nuts Poland? Yes they had extreme war exhaustion, but it doesn't go up very much if you are not losing any more battles.

yeah but the thing is once the player gets going allies become more a burden then actually being useful so i'll usually enter offensive wars alone but really when i'm at that point i don't have many offensive wars anyway and just spend my days helping allies. i'm the type that likes to get to a certain size/strength and that's about it, no real map painting for me. i realise most don't play this way but playing this way really does highlight some of the flaws with the current peace negotiation system

How many times have you been in a war and abused the AI?

The AI can't be abused. It's not a player. It has no emotions, no investment in the game, and can't care about the outcome. It doesn't have agency.

And if you must, when it's just the AI, you can imagine that the AI ally *did* consent to surrendering their territory as part of the interface. It's only when it's the player that we can tell the difference.

Does anyone know if the double warscore cost for provinces that aren't part of the wargoal applies when you're negotiating with the leader? If so, this could become a common complaint, since your AI ally will be able to divest substantially less of your land than it's own to satisfy the same warscore needs.
