The ai ERE usually loses to the Seljuks in thier opening war. If that happens then the Fatimids usually eat Greece within the next 5 years. Then the Seljuks mop up. In my current game, the ERE lost the first big battle but reduced the Seljuks army to around 3k troops which I was able to defeat with my levies and force a stalemate. Then the Fatimids got destroyed when invading Greece. So, the fate of the ERE is usually decided in the first 8 to 13 months of gametime. It all depends on the outcome of the first big battle.

I also increased decadence growth for kingdoms, that may be it.

In the same game, the HRE and poland has become massive

The oddities that i have not done are that France ate denmark, and now it in revolt, I after doing the reconquest off spain took on Sicily and created the kingdom, gave the counties and dutcies to relitives i wanted to get rid of, and gave the kingdom and some outlying properties and my inherited Tuscany to my brother, so my heir has a easier to manage realm. I am guessing in time it will be adsorbed in the HRE. I also put my family into the future holders of Castile. Now I need to sit bad, repair my economy, and try to perhaps get wales or something to have something that might be longer held in the Kingdom of Ireland.
