I just realized the guide on the Timurid's on the UI4wiki is a new one. It's not so detailed but integrates the new expansions, which i lack -.-
The old guide talked about building light ships till cap and protect trade. The new guide says I should completely abandon ship. What is true?

I restated yet another time and now thing go flawless.
I dismissed all ships, I attacked Kashmir shortly after Tabaristan, both are vassals now, and some neighbors pay we war reparations, I am feudal, good tech, good army, good advisors, good ruler and enough money to pay for all of this. Battles and wars are much easier now with all the knowledge you presented me and I fell much more saver in my actions. And I was lucky with some events and rulers.
Thank you all once more and good night.

Hello for another round of questions and strategy talk!
I allied two OPMs because they would except a vassalization but I have a little problem. And when I say little, I mean it! I miss one/two opinion points of those two nations which would make the except! How can I overcome this. I improved opinion to the max, did a royal wedding, granted military access and send a gift. I there something left?

I wanna attack Delhi, before they get even stronger, take some provinces from them and feed Multan, which is my vassal. I am on par in technology with Delhi. I have 57k (35MP) + 3k from Multan (and hopefully another 8k from the nation I mentioned above) = 60k against 34k Delhi (10MP)+ 26k Bengal (5kMP) + 19k (24kMP) Uzbek = 79k. But Uzbek will not be able to join forces with its allies. In this war I could easily beat Uzbek and then move to Delhi but maybe had a hard time there.
Or I attack Uzbek, this would result in a war against Uzbek, Delhi and Kazan (14k). In this war I would have lesser enemy troops but two medium hard fronts.

Why would you want to vassalize those 2 OPMs, especially since you already have Multan as a vassal in the same area. From the screenshots, you are their only ally, it would be easier to just conquer and annex them rather than wasting 2 other diplomatic relation slots on them.

One extra way you can use to boost opinion is to have them transfer trade power to you, it increases opinion by a further 10 if I remember correctly. You can also guarantee them even if they're your ally I think so that's also extra opinion. But as I said I think it's better to just conquer them.

Use vassalization on nations in different parts of your empire, if they have a lot of cores that you can conquer back for them such as Syria or Iraq close to you (like de jure territory in CK2), or nations that have good traditions and ideas.

As for your war, I think you can take on Delhi and Bengal especially if Uzbeks don't join because there is a lot of flatland in that part of India where you can take advantage of your shock bonus, just pick your fights wisely, avoid bad terrain and river crossing. Also try to ally Bahmanis they would be a great help until your form Mughals and backstab them later! Good luck!

PS: I really enjoy your weekly CK2 challenges! Even though I'm so bad at that game I enjoy reading the stories of how people did them!

What guaranties me that those two honor the alliance ind an offense war, but they would certainly except the offer.

I have full influential ideas and I was thinking that I would be cheaper to peacefully vassalize them in the long term. I mostly annexed all of my neighbors, I rarely conquer stuff directly. This strategy was recommended in the old wiki strategy guide.
One extra way you can use to boost opinion is to have them transfer trade power to you, it increases opinion by a further 10 if I remember correctly.
Didn't know that, thx. This solves the problem.

Ok, next time I try to remember this.

I vassalize one of those two nations and allied Bahmanis. I did attack Delhi directly and overrun Uzbek. While I forced them out of the war Delhi and Bengal crushed Bahmanis. Bahamanis was forced to a seperate peace with Delhi and gave them 2 provinces. :( Luckily war one some crucial battles and made a withe peace with Bengl. I slowly conquered Delhi but my manpower ran out. I made a peace with 45% war score. I mabe could go for 100 but I a had to siege down 4 or 5 more forts which would take ages. I won two provinces and feed my new little vassal. Al in all a good war.
thx for the tips!

What guaranties me that those two honor the alliance ind an offense war, but they would certainly except the offer.

First, a strong ally isn't attacking you. This is good.
Second, a strong ally discourages people from attacking you. This is good.
Third, you accumulate favors every year with allies. When you have ten, you can trade them in when declaring an offensive war to get an ally to join in.
For example: I play Russia, and ally Lithuania and Poland. Ottomans leave me alone because I have two big allies. I expand east, away from them, but, once a decade, I call them into a group war against Sweden or Norway or Denmark, cashing in my favors. Since they are right next door, I let them do the fighting, I keep the land.

Strong allies help a lot!

Correction: He doesn't have Cossacks, so he has no favors, no diplomatic feedback, and while the modifiers for calling an AI in to an offensive war remain largely the same, he can only do it once every 10 years (for each ally, of course).

Strong allies help a lot!
It certainly dose!
They helped me in many wars but they also dragged in some. At least I was able to win all of them.

A new question arise:
A am a very strong nation, I only fear the Ottomans right now. How can I shield myself from them. They have twice as much troops than I have but at least we are on par with technology. We have NOT rivaled each other but they are hostile against me and therefore won't except a royal marriage.

commonwealth(Poland) Austria, and potentially Hungary would make good allies to fight against the ottomans

commonwealth(Poland) Austria, and potentially Hungary would make good allies to fight against the ottomans
Too late! The are destroying my armies. They have mil-tech 16 and I have 13, the have now more the twice as much troops and plenty of Manpower and I have nothing.
I gave them five provinces (one from me and four from Persian vassal) to end this before they destroy everthing

Non of the European powers wants a alliance with me. I don't have a chance against this big green blob.
bye bye ... and there goes the fun. Ottomans take every change to fight me. I can't expand so fast in the east then they conquer me in the west.
I had this problem always in my Timurid playthroughs. Is the a way to prevent these?

And that's why when a player starts in an area with the Ottomans, decides first what does he want with them. Either ally them and keep it that way, destroy them early while they are weak (weak my ass, but certainly weaker than they will be later I guess), or blob and tech faster than them with plenty of military ideas and policies. It's good measure to eat QQ, AQ, the syrian part of Mamluks before ottos does, and the Caucasus, that will limit their expansion significantly.

How is this possible? Timurid's and Ottos start out as rivals and are mostly hostile to each other.

So with Timurid's it is all about rush Mughals or destroy Ottos. Both isn't possible or is it?

It is possible destroying Ottos after you formed Mughals but not with 3 mil tech behind. Yeah I do understand you have to develop your lands a lot if you want those institutes in a reasonable time, but don't overuse mil points to do that. Use them on mil tech and military ideas because you will need them.

I didn't spend a single mil point for something else then generals or technology. I even spend tons of money on mil advisors. I expanded mostly east in the first 100 year so institutions after feudalism didn't spread into my country and so the tech points did can extremely expensive. Maybe I should really focus on rushing Mughal. I let Delhi to get too strong and forcing me to focus elsewhere.
I should certainly use warnings against nation which have the potential to grow strong and I want to absorb later on, right?

Warnings are good only if they attack someone you border with. If they blob away from you they can do it with impunity. But you most certainly haven't picked the most beginner friendly nation to start with :D What I would do is rush to form Mughals asap and turn west and eat all I can before Ottos. Going west has the additional benefit of getting closer to Europe to get more of the institution spread. India can wait, you will have a permanent claim on them anyway. If you can get a border with Genoa's Black Sea ports (if they can hold them) it will be helpful too for getting institutions.

I hear that often. I have no problem with the hard part. I play EUIV because of this. CK2 is losing difficulty when at 1800 hours play time. That's why I move here every thee or four moths and give the Timurid's a try.
What I would do is rush to form Mughals asap and turn west and eat all I can before Ottos
I restart and will focus on this. thx
