Just in case this thread is still salvageable:
Okay, can anyone give me an advise for an effective manchuko strategy?
In my game so far, getting lucky by Japan going down its democratic focus tree and having a civil war helped. Korea was released with no army for some easy factories for me. Japan also formed its own faction with only Turkey (wtf?) as a member, so is isolated.
Annoyingly though, they got to hold on to East Hebei, Dalian, and Taiwan. I can imagine them holding onto Taiwan, but in a full blown civil war they'd probably would have pulled out of at least Hebei instead of keeping 20+ regiments there, but oh well.
The problem now is that, even though I have all of pre-Xinhai China I can get, short of attacking the Comintern for Mongolia, I have to war against Japan proper with zero naval tech at 1942. So earliest possible invasion around 1945? Will build up fighter spam, coastal defenders, and paratroopers in the meantime.
As far as warring the other Chinese states goes, as long as they still have the -50% combat malus you can basically ROFL-stomp them if you stack all the military advisors, field 7/2 regiments, and have Superior Firepower.
Or, since I still haven't used my CB from the independence focus, perhaps the white peace event can still fire? Will try and dig into the game files and check.
Also, does anyone know how you can shift your government ethics as Manchukuo? They have no relevant advisors or focuses that I can find...
Edit: I was incorrect - the focus for independence was bypassed, as I had been released by the civil war as well, so likely no easy event to finish off Japan for me.
Edit2: Within a month of loaded, Japan declared on me over claims on Korea. War was over in a month with the event. Korea will not get re-released if Manchukuo already owned it. Just need to get Mengkukuo integrated and the Mandate of Heaven is back. All in all a very fun and quick, albiet incredibly ahistorical, run.
