I originally posted about this in the Manchukuo dev diary, but got no reply. So here's another attempt.
The highlighted bit is supposed to be Manchukuo's "historical" focus tree's end path. Except it's not historical, or even remotely plausible. Basically you remain loyal to the Japanese and get them to give you all of China while as a puppet. This would never have happened.
The whole reason Japan had so many various little puppets in China, many of which aren't represented in the game, was to keep the Chinese divided and weak. Divide and conquer is so effective a policy that it harks back to ancient Rome. Furthermore, there already existed a Japanese puppet government of China, the Reformed Government of the Republic of China, which to my understanding will not really be represented in WtT unless Japan wins the Second Sino-Japanese War.
I get that the point of the game is to have fun, and in SP you might be rather limited if you forever remain confined to Manchuria. But to not have a historical end-path at all seems a bit too much. And not to mention the AI will always end up doing these focuses since they are not mutually exclusive with an actually historical path.
Could PDX consider revising the historical path for Manchukuo in a future patch?
