There is no rational explanation for this. Why do synthetics fall into a coma? Hardware failure?

It's the main goal of this origin is to frustrate the player to make him abandon the game, it's a win. Even before this, if you choose the full imperial direction, it seems the game would punish you for that. Not very interesting. He is falling into coma under any circumstances. Be it genetic, cybernetic psionic or synth ascension. It's part of the storyline.
even if he is the chosen one?He is falling into coma under any circumstances. Be it genetic, cybernetic psionic or synth ascension. It's part of the storyline.
I'll make actually another try with the chosen. The last one wasn't representative because of the midgame patch. I added the trait via console command after taking note of the bug.even if he is the chosen one?

If we don't have option to avoid that, Then is not a game but novel. Synthetic Evolution is the hardest ascension, Requires the most research points. There's no reason it shouldn't be granted the ability to resurrect the luminary/avoid coma.He is falling into coma under any circumstances. Be it genetic, cybernetic psionic or synth ascension. Don't get me wrong i agree here! I'll hope it has something todo with the decisions made before. I try another path actually (answer wise). Maybe thats the key. There's no reason it shouldn't be granted the ability to resurrect the luminary/avoid coma
The best hope is already existing mods with the same origin concept be updated with a storyline. I don't have hope the devs fix this, it seems the goal is to make the luminary go away by any means necessary (kill him like this or make him so awful you want him to go away).I hope this gets fixed. Turning your grand leader into a synth to keep them alive is great emergent story telling. It should play nice with the scripted story.
I believe this is a bug or incomplete content. No reason for Synth will die, Even if the hardware fails, the luminary should have memory backups. I don't think in Stellaris we don't have technology to restore the memory.I hope this gets fixed. Turning your grand leader into a synth to keep them alive is great emergent story telling. Then the player's frustration will be very strong. We working hard to upgrade his level, Then, he dies, No traits and level left, We are back to Galactic Doorstep origin. The best hope is already existing mods with the same origin concept be updated with a storyline. There are unused and partially written events for each ascension option to get out of the coma.
It is definitely pretty glaring, hopefully it will get fleshed out in 3.8.3. They've written most of the relevant code already.
So, the normal chosen trait doesn't work. I even got it during the coma. No effect. Waiting for the whisperer one to show up but actually i feel it's maybe a bug (or not fully implemented?).
