Please do, because it would be pretty foolish to judge the expansion before it's even been announced. It sounds to me like this expansion would be pretty far-reaching (hence the lofty pricetag) in the features it would include in order to simulate the events that happened in the late 700s.
Chalcedonian or Melkite. Christian is far too generic and besides, it is already a group name.
Hmm... It could work since the Quinisext Council in Trullo came into affect not too long ago, but it should be somewhat different from the autocephaly system perhaps a bit looser.
I don't think that's possible. Instead what about a split where Melkites in certain region and opinion of whoever becomes of that religion? As for how it happens, it could be semi-historical events (fiction based on history like the Joan of Arc), an action which causes tension (I have no idea what), et cetera.
if its really dark ages i hope they at least give us new depth stuff aswell.... i dont want a longer boring game i want an exciting game =( more rpg stuff to do more events more decisions

There should be a difference in opinion modifier, however; in these early times those of Latin and Greek Rite should hate each other considerably less than 11th century on.

No matter how you define the Dark Ages, I think the 8th century qualifies, so I'm declaring victory. For now. On to the 7th century!

I sure hope so! Plus, they're going to have to handle large empires better, what with the Abbasids being monstrously huge at this point.

You've still got to deal with the Iconoclasm controversy, and the issues related to that.
