So is there an effective way to automate planets (with mods)?

Currently playing a devouring swarm game (which is totally OP by the way, especially since I got the First League precursors), and in keeping with their strenghts I should probably keep invading and colonizing planets basically non-stop. However, I already notice the micro getting worse with 21 planets to look after. I could probably add another 20 just from the territory I have conquered so far.

Can you hand over planets to the AI without tanking your economy yet? Do mods LIke Glavius's help with that? And what setting should one choose for the autmated sectors? Before 2.2, I tended to do research focus with respect tile resources on to get a decently self-sufficient sector economy with some extra research. But with the way planets work now, specializing an entire sector seems to be a bad idea, and I have no idea how the AI reacts to the specializations.

Am doing a Devouring Swarm game at the moment. Am just looking after planets myself - i'm on 17, IIRC. Mostly, I am not worrying too much, and periodically resettling from my older, fuller planets to my newer ones. Am using a single sub-species for each world, and a single specialism. It isn't 100% optimal, but without migration allowed means that I only have one pop type per planet.
Something that I have just started is using planets as spawning pools for more developed worlds (particularly my Fen Habbis forge world), where all I have is spawning pools, clone vat and like one district.
That level of micro is manageable, or at least it is manageable enough that it was workable around being focused on outmaneuvering the Khan.

Sector AI is good enough. It has a weird obsession with hydrophonics farms but otherwise it does decent job balancing housing, amenities, production etc. Only frustrating thing is dumping them minerals, but 10K minerals should be enough for them to build any planet up.

I saw a mod yesterday that auto resettles pops, haven't tried it yet but sounds good to me. I had 84 planets in my last DS game and I was at the point of just letting them rot as it seemed every 5 days or so another one needed attention.
