Pretty harsh to call someone idiot if they don't know where Goths came from. Yes, even a Project leader, since it's not his job to get the facts right, leading the Project is his job.
Well, I expected that. Thanks for telling.Yeah, they're not in the game.
Johan expressed himself humbly at the stream and even said he wasn't a historian in any way but rather just a person that's interested in history. He also said he left the history parts of development to more qualified people in the team so I don't really see a problem here. His job is to be a project leader, not a historian.
Sometimes I think it would be best for Paradox to just hire a historian to do the dirty work but I understand that money doesn't grow on trees.

I'd guess that they probably came from Africa originally, like all other humans.
Anyway. I read that the first wave of Goths picked up so many extras on the way that their ethnicity was so diverse and the term Goth ceased to be a meaningful way to describe ethnicity.
EVERYONE came from Africa (supposedly), the question is where did the specific tribe that split off and became Goths come from?
Wrong! They originally came from Africa!![]()

I don't want to be "that guy" but the current Out of Africa Theory is not as widely accepted anymore in the scientific community.

Actually it is, while modern humans interbreed with archaic humans most of our heritage is of recent African origin.I don't want to be "that guy" but the current Out of Africa Theory is not as widely accepted anymore in the scientific community.
I find it funny how "get over it" is a phrase used by so many people on the internet, even when it sounds like they're getting upset about something they need to get over themselves.Get over it. If another mans knowledge on a subject is inferior to your own and you can't help but want to point that out, then seriously you need your head examined.
I think the Goths did come from southern Sweden, as the etymological connection is undeniable.
However they left Scandinavia like when? When Jesus was still around? Earlier?
To call them proto-swedes is a big stretch.
