So, hows the game?

I haven't even had a chance to mess with the demo, but by all accounts I have to get this game.

It's sad really. I keep buying games and putting them on the back burner until I have time to play. I really pray I live long enough to retire so I can waste away my retirement days playing all these games I'm buying.

I blame Podcat. He's a hard task master.

Ralph's "It's brilliant!" sums it up perfectly. The game's immersing, beautiful, deep, varied, complex, and it has very few issues or bugs. Solid QA on this title! And the musical score is downright breathtaking.

While I wait for enough money to buy this, how's everyone enjoying the game? Is it buggy, is it addicting, anything to improve on?

It's beyond great.

IMHO the best feature is that the game is never "won". At the point in EU3 where you're deciding between starting another game as a new country or taking another half a continent, in CK2 you're looking over your vast domain hoping that the next succession isn't devastating, and wondering why your "content" little brother keeps plotting against you.

My partner actually plays it! It's the first Paradox game I managed to get her into! I could actually play on the 14th because she, too, played.

It's great, but definite negative side effects -- got it last night at 10:00, played 4 hours, then up for work at 6:00. Looking forward to further destroying my health tonight. As always, the manual is not all that informative, but I've gotten to the point where it's kind of fun trying to figure out what's missing.

It's one of the two top games of Paradox and I played every one of them since EU2, the other is Vicky 2. It's also the most polished.

It's even better than every single (super high) expectation I had of it. This might be one of the funnest games I've ever played. The last two days I've stayed up 'till past 3:00 at night playing CK2, just because I forgot to keep an eye on the clock. This coming from a guy who was until very recently bored to death of gaming.

It might be the "oh my god CK2 is just new and amazing and recently released" buzz, but it really does feel like one of the best and most fun games I've ever played.

CKII is the most immersive Paradox title I've ever played. It's beautiful, well-polished (stable!), and just plain fun. There are a few tweaks needed, especially to France, HRE and Byzantium as they just don't function at all like they did in history. Still, minor nitpicks.


Paradox has turned over a new leaf it would appear and I think they must be very proud of what they've done here. Keep it up!

It's great. Didn't mind CK1, but it wasn't really my among my favourite Paradox games...so I wasn't especially hanging out for this. Bought it anyway and was really pleasantly suprised, I find it really hard to put down.

Great game. I have been playing P-dox games since EU 1, and I would say this is my second favorite of all time. EUIII is my favorite, but that is after years of improvements and add ons. This is the best day one release I have expirienced of their games, though I have purchased very few of my games on day 1. I did get EUIII on day 1, and think CK2 is better on day 1 than EUIII was. Obviously time will tell how the DLC model plays out in terms of improvements, but I am very hopeful.

They really show that they have learned a lot about previously releasing games too soon (not my complaint, but others bitched about it). This is really solid, polished and stable. Every game can use tweaks, and adjustments so there are little things to improve. But all in all, this is a great game, tons of fun and as others have said the only issue is that you might lose the whole rest of your life getting adicted to it.
