Been playing NTW and the excellent mod, LME for a while now. I actually recently passed 1000 hours of play!

I read War and Peace last year but it was a struggle!

Has anyone seen the Napoleon miniseries? It was poor, in my view.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napoléon_(miniseries)

I have it on DVD (very cheap) and I don't think it's that bad.

If you accept that this is a TV-series without a big budget (no big battle-scenes), I think Christian Clavier's Napoleon is ok.

But if you want to see some impressive battle-scenes (no CGI), you have to get "War and Peace" (1961-67) by Sergei Bondarchuk (6 hours 45 minutes). He used 15.000 soldiers from the Red Army to create the battles of Austerlitz and Borodino.

I am going to have to check this out.
Well, Steiger's greatest role will always be as Gillespie in In The Heat of the Night, but ol' Boney comes close. ;)

If you want to see another great movie starring historical nemeses, Cromwell comes highly recommended (from me at least). Harris is a real tour-de-force in that.

Steiger was also great as Mussolini in The Lion of the Desert. Yeah Cromwell is also excellent.

^This !

The battle of Borodino in "War & Peace" just looks realest than the real one. Outstanding reenactment !
