Yes you could, play the marriage game or make a faction to have your liege lower crown authority.

I really like this game, but I might have to forever play 2.4.5

I gave my son some land and one of my vassals fabricated claims against him and I had realm peace on cooldown and his arrest chance was 30% so I was powerless to tell him "Don't do that"

So that makes playing a top realm impossible? Not being able to babysit your son is suddenly the end of the world?
This game is about juggling vassals. You're not the supreme overlord, you're a guy herding sheep with armies

People can actually stand to play as vassals? Vassalage is a humiliating temporary thing that you must work to undo.
It's really not bad. I'm now playing as Despot of Sicily under Byz, and conquer stuff left and right without having to worry about threat and def pacts. To top it off I can ally both internal and external realms to help me in my wars quite easily.

For me, all the fun is lost once I stop being a vassal and become an unstoppable independent realm.

When the king of france gives his son the Duchy of Brittany and is powerless to stop the duke of Normandy from openly defying his authority, that's kinda silly.

One game I was Emperor of rome and I gave the kingdom of Jerusalem to my cousin. All my other vassals got pissed about it and tried to get him removed. Since the kindom was a vice royalty I got it back. I gave it back to the same person and the same thing happened. I've literally done this about 5 times over the past 20 years.

I mean, okay, it should be possible to go to war with your own vassals to stop them from doing things you don't like, but it should upset the other vassals that you're interfering in their business and might result in an empire-wide revolt. You're not an absolute monarchy, after all.

I just find it silly the game put in a "you can not intervene with your vassals war" button. It completely ruins immersion and it makes me feel like paradox is pandering to people who play as vassals.

Im not saying that but atleast allow the King to decided which vassal he wants to side with.
And in order to say that, you are complaining that Paradox stopped you from banning all internal wars, and how it stops you from properly playing as a top liege.

You can understand how I'm getting to 'you are overreacting a little'

And the people who played as vassals in 2.4.5 weren't overreacting?

Their fix was literally just "add a grey button that ruins immersaion because some smurf got annoyed when his liege made medium crown authority"

Not really.

Crown authority sucked it was to much wrapped into one law, and there were to many exceptions such as through plotting that still allowed vassals to declare war.

Besides that the fact that you aren't able to always prevent vassals from warring each other indefinitely does not equate to "can't properly rule your realm now."

They are openly defying the kings authority and short of imprisoning or revoking there is nothing a king can do to say "Don't make me come over there"

Are you still talking about your heir getting bullied? Because that is the ONLY example in which this is valid

Not really.

One game I played as Emperor of rome and whenever I gave out a viceroyalty kingdom all my other dukes would go to war with him to get im to abdicated it back to me. I think gave it back to him and the same thing happened. It happened 5 times

It literally ruins immersion for them to just slap in "you can't intervene with vassals".

I find it funny the same people that are defending this are the same people who were saying that playing as a vassal in 2.4.5 is impossible. Its literally the tables turning and now you guys are saying we are overeacting.

Besides that the fact that you aren't able to always prevent vassals from warring each other indefinitely does not equate to "can't properly rule your realm now."
I agree with that, but it's nonsense that at absolute authority you can't do anything to stop your vassals fighting, for any length of time. Unless there is a good reason that I've missed that isn't 'gameplay reasons'.

I love playing vassals. Murdering your lieges dynasty, fighting idiots who want elective succession, and preparing for the inevitable coup is very fun. But it is insanity that your liege doesn't care that his vassal, once count, now controls three large kingdoms, and has taken little action to avoid the vast shift in the balance of power.
