So has anyone figured out what the ratios are for tech costs and mid/end game start dates?

What I mean is that if I set the tech and unity costs at 2.0, what times should I set the mid and end game start dates so that it plays with a similar balance to the standard game start settings, albeit twice as slow? With the crises appearing along with your empire being around the same level of technology you'd expect to have when the endgame events come around in a normal game.

Probably not as long as one would expect, but if you really want to do the math create a function for the increase of your science gains, integrate the function and see how long it would take to double past the standard 2400.

Assuming that only getting half as many techs and traditions doesn't slow down your economy which it will. The only realistic way to really know is to play games. You can probably make a decent guess though. Maybe 275 rather than 200 years? You would be the best judge based on when you like to accelerate your tech (doing so earlier will mean you get the cheap but still valuable early techs earlier so the slow down won't be as severe but if you wait for 80 years before really starting to throw resources into science and unity then you might be missing stuff like research institute for a long time beyond what you normally would).

Hmm true, it would slowdown the the buildup it would take longer to get upgraded buildings and the other ressource techs.

Would agree about your estimate, somewhere around 50-75 years longer sounds about right, but playing would be the best option to figure it out
